Precision rifle build! (.338 LM - Almost done New pics on p. 7)

Oh, I am not concern at all if Ted or his Nephew is doing the work, every barrel I got from TED turn out to be a shooter, I am very happy with TED work, Either his Own or his Nephew.

Well got some more pictures from the gunsmith everything seems to be moving along nicely. Waiting is hard...

Lyle had to change the muzzlebrake from a Badger Ordnance FTE to a PGW T-Wolf one. I don't care as they both look and function really well. I don't think I will have it in time for hunting season but hopefully I will get to take it out this year.

Waiting is hard...

That's why I went factory ;). Life's short, it's hard enough to wait get top notch-parts; no way am I going to wait for someone to put it them all together too!

I like your scope and your stock as well. Are you installing the scope yourself, or will the gunsmith do it? The S&B is heavy and the finish isn't as durable as one expects, so make sure that the rings are fastened securely so that the scope doesn't slide, otherwise you'll see marks. I learned the hard way - I didn't think the ring screws needed that much torque...

What trigger, by the way? Anschutz? Jewell? Timney?

Hope you get what you paid and waited for!

p.s. Thanks again for all the reloading tips :)

Redman: Young apprentice. :p You will soon learn that factory is good for the masses but when you are ready I will expect to see you in the same position. Once you go custom, it is very difficult to get a factory rifle because you will start to want specific things that no factory will be able to give you. Even highend rifles like AI/Blasers/Sako's just don't have every feature that you may want. Waiting for "the perfect" rifle is always better then waiting for a rifle that may be 90 percent right. I am installing the scope as I need to adjust the eye relief (fairly simple). I am sure I will get what I pay for - Lyle's work is top notch.

Well, learn from this young and foolish apprentice's mistake and don't be too shy when clamping those rings down, lest you want to shave the finish off of (what I suspect is) a 3000$ scope!

One thing I will concede regarding factory rifles, particularly these European ones: getting extra parts is a pain. The one feature I desperately want is more length of pull; guess what? I've been waiting 5 months for 3 extra spacers to come in. A Sako TRG owner tells me he's got the same problem.

Anyhow - what's up with the trigger selection? I take it you're undecided if you're keeping mum ;)

I actually don't know what trigger I am going to put into the rifle yet. Lyle said he would look around the shop for something. I am not too fussy about triggers as long as they are light and have no creep.
