Pictures from the Smith...
Got some pictures from the smith! Damn things look sweet! S&B PM 2 5-25x56mm arrived!
The extractor on the PTG bolt looks very similiar to the Remington one... wish I could see the boltface but I imagine it is identical (wonder who got the idea first?)
Bolt Fluting looks nice!
Everything all together:
The rifle in the picture isn't mine, it is another customer's mine will be black with a McMillan A5 stock. Whoever is getting that other rifle is in for one sweet rig!

Just wondering but on the S&B, whats that side adjustment turret? is that for quick focus or IR?

The focus is on the eyepiece (-2 to +3) and the parallax adjustment is on the left side opposite the windage turret. The smaller knob is the Illuminated Reticle adjustment (0-10 I believe). This particular model only comes with an IR, I am not too crazy about it but it does help when you are shooting in low light conditions.

GB: Lyle ordered it for me. All S&B come from Wolverine so you have to get a quote from either Wolverine or Lyle.

To get away from the ATRS knocking! I sent my .308 from page 1 to ATRS to be pillar bedded (I couldn't justify the shipping to MB for a simple job). I am sure that they will do a great job.
One thing I really like that Lyle does is he will take your barrel blank and cut a portion from the leftover blank to create a gauge. Here is a picture of the gauge he made for the .308 Win. It basically allows you to see where your reloads should go, have measurements of your neck and is a really great way to sort out reloads without messing around with your rifle.
Small little touches like this really help show the difference between buying factory to custom.

Agenda? Huh? I think you're the only one who couldn't take my post in it's proper "tongue in cheek" context. You've had your panties tied in a knot over me since the ".223 to a Mile" episode. I think it's a wonderful idea to add me to your ignore list. I'm sure your quality of life will improve greatly as a result.
Glock4ever: Dude, great looking set up you've got here. If you do't mind me asking, how much for the PTG bolt? What can you tell us about the rifle in the background. Never say those laminate colours on a centerfire rifle before. Looks like a Richard's Microfit stock. Cool beans, man!

2Bad: Those rifles aren't mine - they are someone else's. Those pictures are from the Gunsmith's shop. Only the scope is mine. A PTG bolt - is just over 200 bucks (225 I think was mentioned) you really need to talk to Lyle or a smith about getting one. He explained to me how it is better to go with this vice a standard 700 action (either .338 LM or a normal LA bolt opened up); it has to do with his ability to custom fit the bolt/lugs to the actual receiver/barrel. This won't make a 700 into a custom action but it should improve the line up of the cartridge from the bolt to the chamber.
For everyone asking prices, I would recommend that you contact Lyle or ATRS (these are the only two mentioned in this thread); I don't worry about individual costs in a build so if you are looking for a quote to do work then you need to speak to them - I don't work/represent either so I don't want this thread being mentioned as a source of pricing information. I can say that if you order a build/custom work - you should consider doing more vice less. I say this because when you factor shipping in and time, you will save money/time to send everything in at once. As well, frequently the smith may cut you a better deal if you are doing more work and are a repeat customer. Some guys here may not get it (GB) but building a relationship with a smith will always work to your favor; smiths are like everyone else, they will take care of their good customers/friends before the unknown. If you are a clown who is always calling up and asking for stuff but never ordering = expect to not get prioritized. If you are a repeat customer who only calls when you really want to order something or to send work in, you will get treated well.

I also had a PTG bolt installed in my Remington action but one extra I had done was I had had the action bored and a .010 larger bolt body installed. Now it has a nice tight .002 fit.
