Precision scope under $1000

Jerry is the reason the Athlon helos is on my list! I haven’t talked to Robbie yet I might have to shoot him a message and see what he suggests. I’ll likely wait for a ale before I pull the trigger on anything.
After a few "ales" is usually when I get on the internet and spend WAY too much $$$ on guns! LOL

Unfortunately Arken is no longer shipping optics to the Canadian market.

They have a subsidiary company known as DNT optics that will be focused on the Canadian market and importing optics.

I’m a big fan of my Arken EP5 scopes. But.. I prefer the minor changes to the DNT one scopes that I bought. Minor overall but I like the more NF style knurling on the dials. The crosshairs makes little difference to me but it’s .2 mil for those who prefer that over the .5 of the Arken. 45 degree Windage markings are a cool idea. Minor in reality but still, nice to see the thought put into it. Glass is good on both. Haven’t tested them against each other.

If they make a DNT 5-25, it wouldn’t be a downgrade from the EP5.

Agreed! I also find the DNT to be a superior optic over the EP5. It’s one of the top 3 scopes I’ll recommend in a $1K budget.

Have an EP5 and the Match Pro ED.

Arken nicer feel to Turrets, easier to set zero and turrets. Index marks on elevation turret do not always line up on click. Parallax really stiff.

Bushnell nicer glass. Nicer reticle illumination settings. Setting zero is finicky, but once set it is set.

Both reticles I like and both track well.

Like them both, if I chose one, would be the Bushnel.

I have the Bushnell match pro in both 6-24x and 5-30x.

They are both nice but my preference is the 6-24. Discontinued by Bushnell now, I believe it is replaced with a 3-18x or something like. The original can be found for 5-600 bucks on the ee. I have 3 match pros, like em a lot.

The 7-35 is the only thing really holding me back from the dnt! A 5-25 or 5-30 would be better I would think.

I asked him for a scope that wasn’t listed and he had it so if Athlon makes it might as well ask if you’re interested.

Prices may have changed but I got a new 10-40x and rings shipped to me for $525 which is a deal 8/7 days of the week.
Yep... I've bought 3 scopes off of him and they have ALL been excellent.
Hey there Gun Nutz,
I recently picked up a kidd/dlask 10/22 build and I’m looking to get into prs style shooting with it. I threw a vortex diamondback tactical 4-16 ffp (off my hunting rifle) on it and took it shooting out to 100 yards but I’m not content with it for spotting 22 cal holes. Im looking for a scope up to $1000 preferably with a 30 moa mount as I have a 0 moa rail, that has at least 24x magnification. I’d like to hear some recommendations from the pros on here and maybe if there’s anything worth waiting for to be released. From the content I’ve seen there doesn’t seem to be too much for new rifle scopes at shot show this year.

Cheers,
C10
Hey there... I have had Arken EP5, Arken SH4 (G2) Match Pro ED and the Athlon Argos and Helos lines. I have just bought the DNT from Shooters Warehouse (they have stock).
If you are on a budget, check out the Argos 6-25 and SH4 (better reticle lines for old eyes) and if you want to max you $$ the Match Pro is glorious - but pretty much the SAME as the EP5 for quality etc. You can get that Argos for $450-$500 from https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/members/topgunlhl.219893/ but ALL the scopes listed above will do .22 PRS out to 200 without any issues.

The match pro is at the top of my list at the moment. How do you like the dnt? How does it compare to the match pro and the helos?

Match Pro ED is great... but I had it at the same time as my EP5 and other than the previously noted alignment of the top turret (usually off by .1) I could not tell any notable difference in quality between the 2. The Arken actually has WAY better packaging and inside goodies compare to the brown box I got with my Bushnell (factory). I'll let you know about the DNT when it arrives tomorrow... less time reading internets and youtubes to develop an opinion like many do. The only way to know for sure is to see what works for YOUR eyes... i.e. - the Athlon scopes are great, but the higher end ones have thinner reticles that my 55 year old eyes struggled with.

Fair enough, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the dnt. I’m having a hard time justifying $1265 after tax for the mped when the dnt would be $230 cheaper but as of right now it seems like the consensus on it is all based on YouTube reviews and no real first hand experience.

Also the new dnt 5-25is super intriguing! If it is not just a rebranded last gen ep5 I’ll likely go for that but I want something sooner than later.

I’ve kind of narrowed down the search to a Athlon helos btr gen 2, a dnt “the one” or the bushnell match pro ED. Does anybody have experience with all three? Also any recommendations on where I might be able to find one for a good deal?
don't overlook the Midas Tac genII 5-30
have a couple 6-24 w/30mm the are good for me, so staying w/30mm, have never needed more adjustment

I missed a group pre-order for the Falcon T50i, shopping for it now if I can locate any in Canada for decent price.
I already have the X50T and I trust Falcon.
My benchmark is - put a business card on the 100 target and read it.
