from what I can put together with AMax your point of aim is just over 55 feet above target, or 39.6MOA on your scope with 5.8MOA of spin drift

Haha, yeah, I think that's what someone figured, something like 50ft above.
Two of our pals do this sort of thing for a living, so I felt a bit more at ease when throwing those pills at the target.
Will try again next month and hopefully the stars align and I make that 1.6km hit.
Would love to nail 2km, but baby steps

Unfortunately, I'm probably better at shooting with my camera than I am with my rifles, but the learning process is so much fun, and probably the best part.

well... bring enough ammo and if you throw enough at it, law of probability has to kick in at some point...
Yeah, I'm aiming high and trying to find 3km somewhere and try to work my way out and just waste a whole whack of ammo

Summerland is a bit further than Merritt, but one of these days, we'll have to make a trip up there.
That being said, the search continues for better shooting spots closer to home.

Given the toys you guys are playing with, isn't the gas to Merritt about the same cost as a mag full of ammo????
Or is that enough gas to get to CALGARY
Where you are shooting near Merritt looks like a great spot

In BC, we just follow the logging trucks and go back next season once they have cleared our range for us

Nothing official but the real estate is there and actually bigger then what was before.
Easy 1450yds.... move to another road and you are over 1 mile. As the pullouts are much smaller then the field we used, not easy to house a bunch of shooters without some serious land clearing BUT if guys want to get together as a work party and get it leveled/cleared.... give me a shout.
This is just one of who knows how many options as they are logging this watershed to death. Might take another long drive but this spot does everything I need right now
