Precision/Sniper/Tactical

Here are a couple of pics after getting the gun bedded, (Had the foresock opened up a tad to allow more clearence for the floating barrel), 10 round mags, and Badger Tactical Bolt knob. I also had the angle of the feed ramp changed a tad (and polished mirror smooth), as well as the mag feed lips modified so that it feeds a longer OAL round out of the mag. Now I can feed 2.90" OAL rounds from the mag!

Why no sticky you ask....

...because... I had a nice list of stickies at the inception of the Photo forum listing all the greatest hits of shootin sticks, pistols, 9's 45's, plastic, shotguns, hunting and tactical, rifles, hunting, military etc. and yes, wait for it...Precision/Sniper/Tactical. Thats right folks this very thread was at one time a stuck thread.

The masses at the time didn't seem to like it though, and while it made sense to me to have a sticky format it wasn't to their liking. I ran a poll and they voted to scrap most of the stickies.

So here we are. You bought it... you name it.

Reccman - Re: your thought that it should be stickied because you "believe there is enough interest". Sorry it has to get in line behind 5 other more popular threads.

Time for an election! Do another poll and i'll met most will support it being stickied now.;) :)
 
I just got into a 10FP, it is my fifth rifle last was a 700P custom by PGW. Now I am going to have itput into an A1 stock and that is it. Great rifle as as far as I am concerned, good choice sean141544.
 
Guys. Give me the low down! I want a long range rifle/sniper rifle/precision rifle call it what you want. I bought a remington model 700 vsf 308. Its at the gun smiths getting a few things customised to my liking. I also picked up an elite 4200 6-24x40 mil dot for my babby. Now I have used and with great results standard leupold 2 piece base's and medium rings on my hunting rifle. I noticed on pictures of other fellows long range rigs they are using the same base and rings, and others (Farmboy for example) are using Mark 4 Tactical Mounts from leupold with the one piece base. What is the take on 2 piece base's. I realize there is no real comparison. For example the 1/4 degree slope for long range shooting and that it will sit the rings perfectly uniform, but is it a HUGE deal. I intend on shooting for sheer fun out to 1000 yards. Does leupold make the one piece base relieved for a left handed bolt? (i am a lefty i confess).
