Pretty pistols? I'm not kidding...

Not as good as the Ruger's or Brownings IMO but the sig sauer mosquito

She is really liking this one. She already asked me, "how much?".

I'm guessing that a Sig Sauer is not exactly cheap. I have no idea who sells these either.

Pretty, it's gotta be an Italian design.

It's also very reliable with all brands of ammo, accurate and good enough for the Israeli Mossad and Air Marshalls to stake their lives on.

Beretta 71. 17 oz empty.

But you have to be a 12(6).

I didn't know that about the Air Marshalls and Mossad using them. Very interesting!

Not exactly inexpensive, but not out of sight either. P+D (see banner above) has one - Sig Sauer Mosquito, Sport Compact w/ kit - for $650. Pretty sure it's not pink, but I'm sure they can order one pinked up if you need it! Otherwise, isn't Questar the home of the Sig Custom Shop imports in Canada?

After showing her pictures, she has decided that she will pick a good looking pistol and have me apply something like Duracoat. So it looks like I'll be breaking out the airbrush to "girlie one up".

Thanks everyone.

That's a great solution - you can get the best mechanical/fitting/shooting pistol you can find at your price, in whatever color it comes, and then custom-job it to her specs.

Good for her taking such an interest in the shooting sports! :)

Ya, I'm happy she has decided to get more into it. I have taken to th erange to try rifles, shotguns, and pistols, but was sure not to push it. I wanted her to take it slow and go at her own pace. Half a decade later, and she is making th epistol puchase suggestion on her own. I have laready gifted her a Swede Mauser converted to .308 and a Norinco Tok clone in 9mm, but she appears to want to do things her way. I see it as a step in the right direction.

To hel! with Jack Bauer, I just want to be 1/10th the man Mordechai Rachamim is.

One of the most famous incidents involving the use of a .22 caliber Beretta 70 “Jaguar” pistol occurred in February of 1969. After the 1968 hijacking of an El Al airliner by Palestinian terrorists, the Israeli government decided to dramatically increase aviation security by placing sky marshals on board. Eventually, the decision was made to place armed veteran Israeli soldiers aboard El Al aircraft. This Israeli sky marshal program was top secret and never publicized.

During the incident that took place in February of 1969, Israeli Sky Marshal Mordechai Rachamim engaged several heavily armed Arab terrorists as they attacked an EL Al airliner on a snow covered runway in Zurich. Despite the odds against him, the young Israeli sky marshal expertly used his issued Beretta Model 70 pistol to kill one of the Palestinian terrorists, moments before the Zurich Police arrived and took the remaining terrorists into custody. The three surviving male Palestinian terrorists received 12-year jail sentences for attacking a commercial airliner with machine guns and explosives that resulted in the killing and wounding of several passengers and crew. Sky Marshal Mordechai Rachamim became an instant hero at home in Israel.

Rachamim told the author that during this engagement at least two of the rounds fired from his Model 70 hit the mark and were responsible for one of the male terrorists being KIA—pretty good shooting, considering that Rachamim single-handedly charged the enemy position while he emptied his .22 caliber pistol at the heavily armed terrorists. Even though Israeli Sky Marshal Rachamim was only armed with a .22, far too much was at stake for him to miss his target. Failure was not on option.

Cute gun for your wife

It sounds like she has fired a few different guns -what does she like? Buy the damn thing and paint it any colour she likes!

She has fired pistols, but not anything in .22 yet. Sadly there is no range here that rents pistols. I'm hoping to get her to handle a few pistols here in Saskatchewan and later during a trip to Calgary.

I will most likely be painting one for her, as she seems to like Duracoat's pink color options. Yup, Pink.
