Hi guys
I have the following that I want to sell but I'm not sure what it's worth.
1000 rnds of Norinco .308 Win. FMJ 61/93 copper washed, steel cased, berdan primed, non-corrosive ammo.

596 rnds of 12/69 Century Arms Bulgarian 7.62X51 FMJ copper washed, steel cased, berdan primed (not sure if corrosive) ammo

100 rnds Century Arms/ Portugese 2/74 FNM 7.63 mm FMJRN Brass cased Mauser Pistol ammo (not sure if berdan or corrosive)

If you were a decent person you could sell any of the 7.62x51 for .75 per round. If you were an a$$hole like some other sellers you might get a dollar per round.

A lot of Berdan-primed stuff is corrosive, but it's not a rule.

Berdan priming is using two holes and an anvil built into the primer pocket; Boxer priming (what we're used to, commercially) uses one central hole and the primer contains the anvil.

So then if I understand correctly boxer = non corrosive & easily reloadable but berdan = maybe corrosive and a PITA to relaod but not impossible.
Is this correct?
So if Berdan primed, how does one confirm if it's corrosive asides from having a bore rust up???

Indeed, you're correct. Berdan is a SERIOUS PITA to reload but it can be done if you find the right primers.

For my money, on the corrosive/non-corrosive issue, I assume any Berdan is corrosive until told explicitly otherwise by someone who's genuinely "in the know" about the ammo in question.

Boxer primers can also be corrosive. Its the compound inside the primer that makes it corrosive, not the primer type.
Berdan primed ammo can be reloaded, but is a major PITA.
There is no way to tell if the primer is corrosive by looking at it. The only way to know is doing some research on the particular ammo you're interested in.
 
So that then begs the question is there a go to website/resource that will give me such information??? maybe a few favourites you guys use?? Might help the OP determine what he has for sale!

The Bulgarian cases have a 19 & a 69 headstamp. The bpx is white with green primting on it on one side and the otheer is stamped in blue, the contents & Century Arms Ltd on it.

The Norinco & Bulgarian is all gone. Now I have a line on some Surplus Sellior & Bellot .308 Win. 147gr FMJ, 20 rounds per box, 53 boxes (1060 rrounds) per wooden case.
Brass case, berdan primed, corrosive, & lead core.
Available in the Lower mainland, B.C. or can ship also.

What price should this sell for?
