Price Check on a Deactivated Sterling

You're right. They'd be better off reborn as an I-beam after the RCMP throws them into the smelter so NO ONE can enjoy them.

Sorry-missed the reply-to my mind-ANY firearm should be available to those with the appropriate training-if you enjoy looking at what WAS a functional firearm-GREAT-but I prefer one that is as it was manufactured...

Sure, but under the current laws all prohibited firearms will eventually be either melted down, or dewats. Save for some that have their 12(7), should the family continue to pass down their 12(6) pistol made before or during part of the 1940s. Or those owned by businesses or the government or museums.

That is, if the law doesn't change before that happens. Until then, dewats are one way of saving them from the smelter. Like it or not.

Dude, it's a year later, bra....
Any ideas on prices?

I have to admit, I too would love a deact Sterling.

However, the current welded up solid items out there are such pieces of uninteresting scrap that I do not intend to bother with them.

Not that I see any deact Sterlings on the market anyway...they are pretty rare.

Note how people are selling the AK74's from Marstar as soon as they get them...welded up solid you might as well just have a picture of one.

A #### and click deact is still something of a drag but at least you can work the action and imagine how it was. There is still some value there.

Interesting. There seems to be a huge price range on these. I received a pm from another member that sold around the $2600 mark.
Thanks for the info! Cheers.

The Sterling is desirable because quite a few members on CGN no doubt used them (Canadian version C1) during their military service. Plus which they are a pretty cool looking firearm anyway...:dancingbanana:

Cantom, I feel your pain, I do... That said, it feels pretty cool to hold. "Uninteresting scrap", or not. And to be very frank with you, I find it very interesting. Plus it's pretty fun to play mirror commando ;)
