You're right. They'd be better off reborn as an I-beam after the RCMP throws them into the smelter so NO ONE can enjoy them.

Sorry-missed the reply-to my mind-ANY firearm should be available to those with the appropriate training-if you enjoy looking at what WAS a functional firearm-GREAT-but I prefer one that is as it was manufactured...
Dude, it's a year later, bra....Sure, but under the current laws all prohibited firearms will eventually be either melted down, or dewats. Save for some that have their 12(7), should the family continue to pass down their 12(6) pistol made before or during part of the 1940s. Or those owned by businesses or the government or museums.
That is, if the law doesn't change before that happens. Until then, dewats are one way of saving them from the smelter. Like it or not.
Can anybody confirm if this is correct?
The last few that have actually seen sell were in the $1500-1800 range
Interesting. There seems to be a huge price range on these. I received a pm from another member that sold around the $2600 mark.
Thanks for the info! Cheers.

Not that I care, but how on earth did you dig up that info? Are you keeping a DB of Sterling sales? Impressive...
...Been keeping an eye on all the Canadian Sterling Police Carbine sales the last few years and the deact listings are just a byproduct![]()
