Price for a S&W 29-2

I tried to sell a 4" model 29-2 last year through Gunnar Christensen. I ended up just keeping it. He listed it just under $700 and it didn't move.

That was my point, I deal quite a few 12-6 guns , and they sell, but have to be cheap.
if a fellow wanted to do the export thing, could make good money, but I can't be bothered, that is where most of our good Winchesters and such went, for 1/2 price a few years ago.
I find there are lots of younger people that would love to buy 4 inch quality revolvers,( maybe because of the price point), but they don't have grey hair yet.

If I had to pick one handgun as a favorite from my little harem, it would be my 4" 29-2 with 'special', but not original, set of S&W factory ivory Magna grips. One of the highlights of my years of shooting, as/my avatar, was meeting and spending the day in the mid 70's visiting a gentleman who was a key player in bringing about the 44 Mag calibre. Elmer Keith :d:d .

Sadly , prohib status devalues a gun greatly as prohib status firearms have a limited market .

True enough, :( and I have a 'few' of them. My saving grace is my Son In Law is also 12 (6), but in the meantime, ;), I'll continue to enjoy them :d .
Oh, a guy from another site, S&W site, tells me, in my case, it's the S&W factory ivory grips that are worth considerable, should I decide to ever 'part' with them. Very scarce apparently and those made were made to be on model 27's. He mentioned something about 10 sets S&W made.
