Pricing on used shotguns?

Never encountered any.

If somebody doesn't share their PAL with me or if PAL doesn't check out, I just don't do the deal.

I buy and sell many goods on our EE, as well as other places, and I have never been ripped off, but Firearms Canada is so full of scams, that I never even bother going to that site anymore. I was only on that site for a week, and in that time I turned in two scammers who apparently just keep returning under different usernames.

Thank you for your quick response.

Can't slow down my yapper though. I'm a proactive chap and that's in my nature. The nature of a scorpion is to sting and you can't change that just like my yapping :)

But in all honesty I believe Firearms Canada has a way better user interface and functionality than GunNutz (subjective opinion, of course). Easier to post items there, easier to edit, delete, etc. Got more sold there than anywhere else.

Don't kick the EE just because you didnot do what was required initally and got a knot in your panties. not even close to firearms canada

CGN has the best classified system I've seen of pretty much any website. The fact only the OP can reply to an ad is extremely nice as are the categoried subforums. Have you seen some of the other websites where every jackass comments in an ad?..."PM sent, email sent, how many rounds, what color is the stock, that price is too high, free bump for a good guy, I used to have a gun like that, it's junk......"
I've had a look at the firearmscanada.ca website a few times. I could never get past the home page, too frustrating looking for something.

If he couldn't get access to the EE in half a year, obviously he really didn't want access that bad. It's not that difficult. That does explain his bitterness.

Just because a person has a legitimate PAL, doesn't mean that they will send the goods once you pay them. I used Google to check some of the adds, and discovered that some of the pictures were simply copied from ads in the USA. When I asked for more pictures, the seller could not supply any, because he didn't actually have the firearm. I went to the forums and discovered just how many scammers used the site, then I never returned.

I must agree with you on the comment part where everyone can comment on your ad on Firearms Canada. Good or bad -- you've got to live with it. It's part of the experience, I guess. The good comes with the bad.

What's good about being able to comment?

And please, don't come on here with a "0" trader rating slamming the EE. Better go check your "Beretta Monstrosity" ad on FA Canada. ;)

I'm not bitter, I'm factual :)
Couldn't get the access, too many requirements, too many rules. Restricted in every way! Just want it simpler for all of us.

I must agree with you on the pictures part. If a seller is not sending any pictures or PAL, it's a warning sign. Those are few and far in between though. As to having a PAL is no ticket to honesty is also true but it protects you in some way. If I don't receive my "merchandise" we agreed on, I can file a complaint with RCMP suggesting firearms fraud and the chap in question will be investigated the least and could lose his licence, which is a great deterrent for many. At least I hope so! :)

Not saying it's good. I actually think it is an easy way to ruin somebody's ad. I would love to see that feature removed from Firearms Canada but they still have it. It is hardly used though. Mostly people use the contact form to the right to connect directly with the seller.

What's good about being able to comment?

Seeing that I had to endure the horrible ordeal of sending a simple PM to the EE admin, then wait a whole day or so myself, I can't understand where you are coming from. As for the rules and requirements, I don't consider having to post a price, and waiting 7 days between bumps, to be all that restrictive.

Since anyone can provide you with someone else's PAL number, you can confirm that the PAL is valid, but you still won't know if it even belongs to the individual. Before the LGR was done away with, I had many people provide me with PAL numbers, and when I called the CFC, they didn't tell me the person's address or provide me with any way to identify them.

OK let say all that info was stolen right down to the pic. Now what?

But to your point, the best way to buy guns inexpensively is through a gun auction, an estate, or at a gun show.

There is a large gun auction where I am twice a year. It is now attended by so many people, plus proxi bidders and telephone buyers that the prices have become insane. I have also been to plain old farm auctions where pieces of rusty, junk single shots have sold for way more than what they would have on the EE. All it takes at an auction is 2 bidders going against one another because they don't want the other to have it. Private sale is the best most of the time in my opinion.

That's where he phone number comes into play. Talk to the person in person. Also the phone number reveals the address. Or you can ask for a copy of dr. License as well.

Then somebody is a genius imposter, thus commending my admiration :) Normally those kind of people with that kind of degree of preparation go after something bigger.

I really wish you would. Never have I seen so much unqualified information and opinion spewed in such a short time. In fact, I suspect you are some kind of troll or scammer. You post questions about 391s durability and you have one for sale on the EE?

I find you annoying.

Pricing also works the other way. There are lots of people looking for a gun for next to nothing, even if it's in excellent condition. I just had it happen again. Had a gun listed here and on another site. Fellow sends me an email saying I was asking twice what the gun was worth. Funny thing is I already sold it and had 3 other interested parties within 5 minutes of the first I'll take it. Perhaps that's why some people can't make a deal. I told that person where to go.

I don't have 391 for sale, I'm afraid you are mistaken.

As to me annoying you, feel free not to read my posts. The blog is for everyone and I want to be an active participant. As to unqualified opinion, what makes one more qualified than another and who is to judge?

Equality for all!
