Primer Disposal

Mine get scattered in and around the bird feeders. I try to keep them away from those plastic 6-pack rings and used motor oil, but usually close to the used antifreeze in open containers. Which is near the burning barrel and used batteries.(Don't worry, they only leach into a small stream)

Excellent point. I end up decapping sometimes piles of unfired primers but am not sure whether the process of decapping will damage them. I use an RCBS Decapping Die and do so very carefully
(well DUH they can go bang). Or are you guys that reusing them just using them on range rounds and not hunting loads?

On the off chance that you're asking a serious question... no-one serious is re-using primers. The video is interesting, and I applaud the ingenuity of the guy doing it (he might be one of five or six people in north america too cheap to buy primers), but he has way more time than money, and is likely compromising the reliability of his ammo.

It's a great trick for TEOTWAWKI... but I'm not worried about that.

I think if you re read the post that he's asking do we re use UNFIRED primers that where pushed out with the decap rod for whatever reason.

If the anvil (the little star thingy) is undamaged I do, i've never had one fail to go bang

Still might be a consideration if we are unable to get some. They look good when they come out as I am VEWWY CAWEFUW to take them out. My heart is in no need of testing at my age. I would bet that 100% of what I decap would work. Only has to go bang to do its job really. Sorta serious and sorta not-more curious. Im sticking to new store bought primers FYI. Not that hard up yet. Still I ended up with a whack of them when they were getting scarce and was thinking of offering them to someone else to bang off. Be good for anvil races too. They do that here once a year-drop an anvil on another with a big effin primer in between to see how high it goes-maybe a blasting cap or such. Quite the show to see a 100lb anvil airborne.

Retina transplants for teddy bears?
Bling for Barbie dolls?
Baby moon hub caps for matchbox racers?

The possibilities are endless...:D
