So I am new to reloading. I bought a Dillon Square Deal B 9mm and had it set up on a new bench. It was as secure as possible (bench not drilled into ground but no wiggle, also a new Stack On Reloading bench). I was able to load only 4 rounds out of 55 properly because the majority had the primer not seating fully and in some cases the primer did not even enter the case. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Dillon and we went over:
-machine parts not being screwed in enough
-wrong primer size
-wrong primer holder (part that holds primer and inserts it)
-primer direction
-pull and push on handle
-any play in the set up
-types of primers (Winchester)
-brass, tumbled with old primers in than punched out at Station 1
The guy and I could find nothing wrong with the machine or my actions. He suggested I send it back which I did.
Anyone have any other ideas why the primers were not seating fully or seating at all?
