problem coyotes

I called them eastern wolves but I should have said Eastern Coyote's, Coydogs, Coy-Wolf hybrid or Tweed Wolves. Sorry for the confusion :D

The black colour can also be a result of melanism in 'pure blood' coyotes (though I use your term loosely) as well as interbreeding with melanistic red wolves and domestic/wild dogs. There was some research on the topic in the 1950s. It occurs more often in eastern coyotes, that's true, and tends to be more common in the southeastern USA than anywhere else.

Soooo where exactly did he say Alberta. Lived here all my life and never seen a black Coyote, seen some pretty pale almost white ones but never a black.
As well as Hunting at night? I realize that preditor control in AB is not hunting when on private land but pretty sure discharging a firearm in AB after dark is a no no.

No idea where this guy is from but have seen black coyotes in Ontario and Nova Scotia for sure.

Wow,, good shooting... I have never seen a black coyote, but people around the Udora area have said they've seen black ones.

This is not to Sparky, my second comment is ;)

But the figure of speach "Hunting at night" sometimes applys as hunting just before dark or late afternoon hunt. I have to wonder if this is what he ment.

Sparky now you - lol This was taken in NewLowell city just north of Toronto, west of Barrie and there has been more seen in the area over the deer hunt.
