problems with a guide in BC

SCI and GOABC don't gaurantee the game but they do have hunt reports and can recommend outfitters with good reputations. It sounds to me like the guys got a bad outfitter and have hopefully learned a lesson do thier homework and make some enquiries before booking with any outfitter. I honestly don't think that your freinds have a leg to stand on unless they were lied to or paid trophy fees for which they never took a trophy and should be entitled to a full refund of thier trophy fees unless the contract states otherwise.

Hello Hunt 365,

for sure a lesson learnt but the price was not a small one ???!!!

and sure the GOABC and SCI is a good help but again it happens and it was like that in the past that one year a "good" outfitter was not the same on results the next years .... even when references came from those good organisations ...

again im here to try to help my friends not to put blame on organisations or guide nor outfitter as none especially can guarantee about wild animals ... and it wasnt the case in the contract ... they hunted without speaking to me and their long experiences "good" ones in scotland germany South africa namibia benin and CAR didnt lighten them and they listenned more they heart than the wallet and didnt do the homework ... as most of us will do ...

but just to learn is sometimes very expensive ...

time will tell for good news or not ....

I'm thinking you need to let your buddies solve this one as theres a lot it sounds like you arent sure of and probably only know one side of the story.....

Learning is not expensive if you do it right......

IMHO, Best recommendation so far.

well now that I think I understood what you said maybe not, but complaining there were other hunters there well its there right if there residents ok, and it dosnt mean they were hunting grizz either , and hunting bear from a pick-up is standard in most guide outfitter camps, its called spot and stalk , not walking around with a finger up yer nose hoping to see a animal that is 90% nocturnal in most places anyhow like rack said maybe let your buddies the so called pro hunters deal with it , if they had been all over the world they should have known to do there homework first on a hunt, sounds like more money than brains to me and a fool and his money are soon parted as they say ;)
