I take my slide to the eye doctor. (You don't need an ATT, and can hold your slide much like you hold your pistol.)
According to my doc, the sooner you make the transition, the better you'll fare.
See your doctor.
I had them and gave them back to the doctor. Just couldn't adapt . Had to go with 2 pairs of glasses....one for reading and the other for long distance.
My wife has progressive and likes them.

I find it not too terribly bad shooting handguns, but long guns are another story. A proper cheek weld has me looking through the wrong part of the lens.

For Pistol shooting: Tried them, they work ok. But you need to tilt your head back to get the correct focus. So, that is ok for slow deliberate, but not good for the faster, dynamic stuff.
I went with upside down bifocals.
Rifle Shooting: normal bifocals and progressives are ok for normal prone. Not so good when shooting from other positions where you have to compromise where your head is.
Pistols seem to be no problem, but make sure your prescription is up to date. Still having issues with rifle scopes, it takes a long time to adjust weld and eye relief, a small shift in eye or head position and loose focus. There are some good articles on glasses and shooting: https://www.drbarrynolt.com/shooting-glasses/shooting-glasses-for-pistol-rifle-and-archery/. The advice varies by if you are doing bench shooting or action moving around
How long did it take to get used to progressives? Anyone buy from Zenni, good, bad, ####?
same here they just feel weirdthey didn't work for me. Ended up replacing the progressives with 2 pairs, one for close and one for far, and went to red dots on my pistols.
Huuuuge difference with the red dot.

Anybody shoot with progressive glasses on? I am getting tired of putting the cheaters on and off for everyday use so thought I would get a pair. Most things I read say they are not that great for shooting but thought I would ask if anyone has found an improvement using them. guess I will find out for myself when they are ready.
A great many gun enthusiasts shoot with $20,000 guns, or own $40,000 worth of guns stored in their safe..but wont spend the money to get their eye vision corrected thru a proven lasik proceduren that works for around $5000. So when they come out to shoot and cant hit a target or break a clay..they blame it on their eyes!! Go figure...I wear progressives....Ive learned to live with them..it is what is is my friend! Sell one of your guns and start having some fun!
