Project guns - Savage Pump and Rem single shot!! update 4/4/10!

The off centre bore is normal. The bore is corrected by the factory at the muzzle/choke end. This makes the gun shoot where it is pointed. One of the draw backs of shortening a shotgun barrel is getting the off centre portion at the new muzzle end. It really can't be corrected and the gun will shoot off of point of aim. Probably won't make much difference for your intended purpose.

regards, Darryl

Lol true ;-)

No not yet! No time last weekend.. I dud buy CLR, steel wool and black matte paint! I decided to do it the easy way...with heat resistent paint. Hopefully I'll be able to finish at least one this weekend and I'll post pics for sure!

What does the single shot weigh? That'd be ideal in the pack while big game hunting.

Thanks for the idea, I spent some time today and made my old single shot Ranger 12 guage into a pistol grip with a 20" barrel and oal of 27 1/2 inches to keep it legal...It has a new lease on life now...I want to reinstall the bead front site, parkerize the barrell and reciever. Finally install studs for a sling and now it will be my fun gun.....I have a old 16 guage waiting for a new lease on life as well...R:d:....I have found my inner bubba... I cant seem to post the pics here or get onto photobucket...I used camo hockey tape for the pistol grip to hide the recessed bolt...it looked so good I carefully did the forestock and was very impressed with how it turned out so far....nice truck/packpack gun:)

Cool! try harder on getting those pics up ;)

Cant wait to finish off my two zombie killers

OK so finally FINALLY got to it again! (we have a baby coming and I had to prioritize babyroom for a while)

Started with the 16ga. I used a steel brush and steel wool to brush off all the rust and pits. It was surprizingly easy! going at it for half an hour left me with pretty shiny steel. I bought that matte black BBQ spay paint and painted the barrel and receiver with that. I also stained all the wood in a nice dark color brown. Everything is drying now. I'll post pictures of the result. Looks good so far!

OK the 16 ga is done! I am going to get a sling still, and fill in the hole. as mentioned before I painted the steel matte black with BBQ paint and the wood with wood stain. Looks cool! WD40 stains are very present though...

Now i have to find slugs and go to the range with a sheet of plywood. I'll post a video of me shooting the sh!t out of it!!

Cool gotta get started on my 16g. It's a single also. Hey if you find any slugs let me know where as I've had no luck #4-7 1/2 shot is all I've found. Enjoy the gun.R:d:

Steel wooled and painted the steel of the 12ga today. Also sanded down the wood. It was so nice that I decided just to finish it and nit stain it, looks awesome!! I'll put it back together and post pics tomorrow!

Finished off the 12ga pump! Now this is a zombie killer! I think it looks awesome, really happy with the result. Range report will follow!
