Since the pics above he has cerakote the slide FDE. Looks even more trick!

Here's his AR with Cerakoted barrel. I think I'm going to have get that done as well.

holds up. the cerakote is very thin. .001" it doesnt hide any scratches. there are couple areas that i didnt stone and smooth out well enough and it shows under the paint.

Awesome job!!! I had a very similar idea! Except instead of cerakote, I would attempt to take it to a place to get it nickel plated or perhaps a different finish and yes, I know it's the most cliche handgun there is, but it will complete a collection, and most of my current funds are being allocated towards my 67 chevy so a high end 1911 is sadly out of the question

Nice looking 1911's are a dime a dozen boys.

Not trying to slag anyone's work or anybody's gun...but I would really like to see a successful range report...

Put about 200 rounds thru it today and ran flawlessly. Smoking steel plates more consistently than my M&P9 pro CORE and Kimber team match II in 45acp. It's a shooter that's why I decided to get Rusty to give it some lipstick. Worried that he Koted the entire frame and slide inside/out, still shot silky smooth.

Disappointed that won't get to use this pistol on competition down in the U.S. since it is a Norinco.
