Provincials @ Barrie

Mr Clean has shot standard, revolver and production. He loves his CZ therefor the logical step now is open.
Mr Clean, how about shooting open for the big match. I will supply the comp and C more sight.:D
I can even load for you.:p

I think round count play important role in making a match greater.
In USPSA, most of Area matches are more then 200 and some times in high 200's. Also the stages. IMO long stages are where a skilled shooter can established his lead over others. So more long stages, better for testing shooters abilities in one package.
Good match will have stages with weak and strong hand,
with shooting on the move, going prone at least on one occasion or more, transitions, transitions, transitions :)
crouching, drawing from different positions, shooting at no more then few targets at the time, long shots - minimum 30m (I like what boys did in Halifax with those long poppers @45m), going through door, getting freaking confuse while trying to solve the stage (many different ways to solve particular problem), good speed shoot, lots of steel, swingers, disappearing targets
Usually when I go to Area match I can see most of that and that is why I love shooting in US.
Now if we can fit all this into low round count that is fine.
This is my opinion based on my observation.

Sounds like you have some good ideas.......why not put them on paper, and host a match?

Craig,
my name is not John E., in my eyes he is numero uno when it comes to action. I am useless when it come to build something.
Another thing, I will need founds to build what I want, need more volunteers and venue which will understand what I want to do.
Have none of that;
that is why my hat goes always down to all of YOU for putting so many hours of hard work for so few can have fun.

If I would ever run a match, I will disobey IPSC rule recommendation for ratio of 3-2-1. I think we need to shoot more long stages if there is room,
and we need to have them sensible but difficult.
Short stages for me are speed shoots only.

I betta a lot of guys will disagree with that concept, but hey this only me:eek:.

Greetings,

As an example......have you thought of putting some stage ideas on paper and submitting them to John or myself, for use in our upcoming level 3 in the fall? Or submitted any ideas to the Provincials committee for inclusion to the match?

We are always looking for new ideas for stages, and they do take time to come up with, so it would be nice to have some fresh ideas!

And BTW.....I kind of jumped into this head first, and John does appreciate the help, I have only been at this for 2 years, but am willing to learn, and that is all it takes!

Not for anything, Peter is a great help and has always helped me on the few matches I have done.:) I welcomed his comments most of the time.
He always shows up and pays the match fees. He was my customer.

I know that setting up matches and running them are a lot of work and at times it is a thankless job. (Rob and Russel @ Barrie know because I am giving them a hard time.) I must admit though they are trying and I thank them for that even though I am a pain in the ass.:D
We have to remember though that the shooters are customers.
I know it may be a pain to listen to them once in a while but they do pay and shoot.

If we do not try to make them happy or piss them off, they join IDPA (could not help that) ( I am joking).:nest:
They will not go to our matches and will not support us at the club level.

Storm and the crew get this and do a great job.
Just think about it, you piss off the shooter and he tells two friends and so on and soon, everyone is shooting in the good old USA were they know how to treat the shooters. How? by providing great customer service, prizes, shooter packages and value for the dollar. Ask anyone who frequents the big matches in the USA. Who are they? Most of our top shooters who get pissed off and shoot in the US or world.

Just my 2 cents.;)
Does not buy much. Then again what do I know.
