Prs optics

Bushnell match pro ED is my recommendation. Theyre pretty cheap and affordable. And punch above their weight for the price.

You just missed out a 30% rebate on them aswell.

If youre in Edmonton and want to see on on a PRS rig message me!
That would be awesome. I currently can’t start a conversation as I just joined but If you reach out I can reply

Okay perfect. That’s what I thought. Next time I’m around I will pop in and chat with you! I appreciate you reaching out!
Sounds like a great plan. Even if you're interested in brands I don't sell, i'd still be happy to help steer you towards wheoever sells what you need. I treat all my customers like friends - and it's NEVER about making a sale with me - but to make sure you buy what you NEED.

That is greatly appreciated! You have already been recommended by a co-worker of mine but I just haven’t found the time to make it down there yet.

I have an Apex Rival and it’s just fine for PRS, (as will any other $2000 scope, and a bunch of cheaper ones too), but if you might use this for long range as well, I’d consider stepping up another level (even though I shot out to a mile with my Apex).

When I was at RFMA, I compared my scope to a Leupold Mk 5, and you can see exactly where the extra money went.

In PRS, you aren’t taking your time with shooting, so I don’t think glass clarity matters as much. I think it boils down to what you’ll be using your scope for.

I’ll second the Kahles recommendation from Robbie!! I have three and the fov on the newest model is insane and the glass is as good as it gets. Great review on Area419 about the top PRS glass. Cheers and Robbie is awesome to deal with.

You can add my vote to that too.

All too often we hear about issues with dealers where someone feels short changed but not so much when they get good service. I wont bore you with the details but I bought some Leica Geovids from him and he could not have treated me any better.

Used a few optics recommended in this thread. A lot actually.

Currently running the Tangent 7-35. What an awesome optic! Good field of view, the best turrets on the market and some amazing glass! Really enjoying the experience so far.

Came to the tangent from a Gen 3 razor. Which is honestly the best alpha scope for the money. Decent glass, good reticle and easy to zero turrets as well. Not to mention vortex support is top notch. Had an optic go down middle of match season and they had it back to me in hand within a week.

Kahles, ZCO and Nightforce all came before the top two options. Nothing wrong with these scopes but just different feels and reasons I changed.

If you have any questions at all feel free to shoot me a PM and I can answer them for ya.

Thank you for the response! The Tangent is at the top of my list currently. What a great optic!

as someone who has shot prs all over the world for the last 5 years, i would recommend figuring out what you want in a reticle. that should be your main deciding factor. then find the scope that checks that box, regardless of the brand or the price.

for me, i settled on the impact2x reticle in the ZCO. the 0.2 sub tensions make holding incredible accurate and intuitive.

there are lots of great high end scopes with incredible glass and features, but i just dont like the reticles.

Learning about the various reticles and how they are supposed to be used, is a valuable tool to have in the knowledge base before shopping for scopes. There are advantages and disadvantages to most of them, some too thick, some too thin, some with open centres, some without, various hashmark values, some have very useable hidden hashmark or line values they don't elaborate on, some do. In some lighting conditions German may be better than Jap glass, and vice versa. Take your time and learn about some of that stuff.

Not to be ignorant, but I honestly want to know the advantages (realistic) that will make me shoot better using an 6-8K scope vs a 1-2k scope for something fast-paced like PRS. I have been shooting for only 1 year and up to 1030 yards (limit at Borden military base) using my Vortex Viper HD 5-25 and I can confidently and consistently hit targets ranging from 14x12, 12x12 and 8”. When I miss it’s because of bad wind read, not my ammo, technique, rifle and definitely not my scope. Target acquisition was not difficult either even when I had my zoom maxed out and I can see the faintest mirage hints about the wind. The 0.1 elevations (tested up to 9.4U) were right on the money and matched all my kestrel recommendations.

I did look through a TT scope and the image was big, bright, colourful and pretty, but I am not using the scope to watch birds or nature.

Sorry didn’t meant to hijack this thread
