Pump vs lever.. which one is more fun?

Pump all the way for me, I have a .22 pump and it’s way more fun than anything I’ve shot in a lever. Not that a lever isn’t great either, I just enjoy the pump action more. All my shotguns except on are pump guns and I love shooting/hunting with a shotgun.

Wish Henry or someone similar would make a timberwolf or lightning clone in 44 or 454 for less than those lightnings go for, probably going to have to keep on wishing. Their pump 22’s are great little guns. I do have 1000s of rounds through my base model lever 22 by them and it still runs great.

Would like to try out a pump centrefire rifle but I’m definitely a fan of the lever guns.

I'm a lever fan for centrefire. There haven't been many modern pump offerings. I just picked up this verney-carron impact LA pump in 9.3x62mm. 41.5in overall length, 3+1 capacity and battue sights. It might change my mind. So far I'm very impressed by how smooth the action is. Zero slop. It's smoother than a browning bps.

Is this normal?

The henry 22 wmr i got has a 2 feet by 2 feet grouping at 200 yards. I know 200 yards is pushing a little… but i had to try.

Im getting much better with my other rifles.

At 100 yards im getting 3-4 inches grouping.. did i get a bad copy?

I just spent 100 bullets and best i could do was a 2 inches group at 100 yards.

Are lever action less accurate than bolt in general?

Love levers, had to get one....then another :)

This won't apply to many, but what sux balls is that the arthritis in my trigger hand is so bad that cycling the action is just too painful to do anymore. Came to a stop for me last fall....got settled in to deer blind and tried to chamber a round and the pain was silly. Absolutely zero chance of reloading quickly if required. Curious to try a big loop lever with heavy gloves/mitts.

I'm a lefty and am reasonably ambidextrous with tools, guns, sports, even writing, so now I shoot the lever off hand.

Most fun

full auto
single-action revolver
semi-auto
break action
bolt action
pump action
lever action

Less fun

So pump, I guess.

If you want to shoot small groups then there are better options for rifles than a lever action rimfire.

Rimfire accuracy is going to be dependent on ammunition and your sighting system.
