Purchasing air rifles in odd places

frig man just go out and shoot em. I have yet to see a cop stop and get out with a chronograph to see if your air gun is over 500fps.

I would have my arm twisted on this one but they are in the shop for testing, sorry, i would rather know for sure than kick myself later for not trying

The RCMP aren't going to magically rappel into your backyard and shoot your dog if you shoot a pellet gun and the little piece of metal inside it goes over 450 fps. We haven't gotten to that level of surveillance and incursion yet (despite PM Sockboy's best efforts). Keep in mind that the RC's can't even stop their members from losing sensitive information in parking lots, notice that their CI's are stockpiling weapons for mass murders, or even prevent rapes in their own ranks.

As usual your best bet is, in the words of the wisest lawyer I know: "Shut the ##### up" and not tell anyone. It's on the pawn shop, not you, and why you would go test it and open yourself up to anything is beyond me. Sounds like you've really internalized Trudy's goal of turning this country into a bunch of good boy subservient citizen cucks. There's an alternative to living your life as a government fluffer.

I know Im not in England but old habits die hard, so when a pellet passes the boundary of your garden plinking it becomes Armed Trespass You will have a visit from the Armed Response Unit, forgive I for being so anal on the laws in this Country but safe shooting has been an integral part of UK gun Safety I will try to lighten up in my responses

Make sure they use standard weight ammo or even heavy ammo. Some of that new light weight stuff would put the guns over

Canada refuses to say which pellets they use for testing. I tried contacting the CFP several times. Kept citing some privacy act, I wanted it in writing. Even Canadian airgun dealers and importers don't know.

Weihrauch in Germany had no issue to say 14.66 they used to test my 22 HW 45.

The Results:

Both guns came back at slightly under 450fps Fhew

however the Diana has a bent barrel

They did not tell me what pellets they used

I will go pick them up,

I will take up the challenge of using JSBs when my Diana has been returned for repairs in the meantime I have an F11 to practice on and zero in to 30 yards

Good luck with JSBs. ,I've shot them in my HW97s, Diana 45 Original, Diana 45 New and CZ630. I found they are no more or less accurate than Crosman Premier Hollow Points in .177 or .22. Yes I ordered 3-4 different diameters and they didn't shoot any better than the cheaper Crosmans. I would not have minded the higher cost of the JSBs if they were even just somewhat noticeably more accurate.

Maybe its my shooting technique. Been shooting artilliery hold since late 80's when I discovered the world of accurate adult airguns.

There are many threads online with building jigs to straighten airgun barrels. Probably someone let the barrel spring up, because the piston didn't catch.

Regarding pellets, the general consensus among airgunners shooting rifles beyond 10 meters is that Crosman pellets sold by the tin are not comparable to round nose pellets such JSB and H&N. Crosman does make good-shooting pellets. These are the .177's available in the cardboard box (not to be confused with those in the milk carton-like containers).

Yes I use 7.4grn Crosman competition wadcutters, they come in a blister pack. I won't notice the accuracy difference to pay more for pellets.

I will be using various types weights and makes of pellets with a five group shots at paper targets out to 30 yards, I used Crossman premier paranha to zero in the scope sitting position with a bag as a gun rest, I have a new sheet of 1/8 ply down range marked a loony sized mark in the center of the 8x4 sheet, I sight the mark up with my scope and carefully shoot, I then look through the scope to see where the pellet landed too low and to the right, keeping the gun on the mark I adjust the windage and elevation to the first pellet

I could have had a flier so I take three more shots and micro ajust the scope and get consistant bullseye shot, now to do that with the JSBs

Ive seen others on a range #### there underlevers while holding the trigger, while they didnt bear trap their thumb, the surprise on there face is priceless, its like going off half cocked lol, there was no obvious damage to the bluing or obvious dents in the barrel so its assumed it either a BIT, broken in transit or a fault from manufacture, to drop a gun and then sell it seems implausible, Im just glad it was tested
