Put an S&K scope mount on my longbranch

Thus far in my firearms ownership I've yet to own a scoped centerfire rifle. I've kicked around putting a scope on my A.G. Parker longbranch match rifle since I got it simply cause I wanted to see what the old girl could do at distances greater then 300 yards. I had a Ph5c on it which looked the part but the idea of a scope just wouldn't go away.

Then while having coffee and chewing the fat at Smellie and twosteam's place I ended up leaving with a very nice S&K scope mount in my possession. It's rock solid and doesn't alter the gun in any way. It takes about 5 mins to go from iron sights to a full scope setup.

I put a Scorpion optics 4-12x40 AO copperhead scope on it and thus far it seems very clear with good light transmission. The only other scope I have is a 3-9x30 marksmen which has served me well on my .22 varmint rig that is used around our property in all weather.

Anyhow here's some pics, just thought I'd post them to give others an idea if they are wanting a no drill and tap mount for a Lee Enfield.

On another note, does anybody have or know where I could find an XL or XXL buttstock for this old girl? I would like a spare buttstock in the same length as the one on the rifle so I can experiment with cheek risers without worrying about damage to the buttstock.

looks good tinman!! wellhave to get together and do some shooting! i have a butt stock from my MK2 if it will work for you, its yours,

Where do i get my hands on this mount? i want one for my sporters,

I've tried about every "no drill and tap" scope mount you can get for the LE, and I can say the S&K is definitely the best.

In my experience, totally rock solid.

Other models often need shimming, loctite, and even sometimes bedding with JB weld (On the mount, not the rifle !!!).

Chalk me up as one more happy S&K customer. I have one of these mounts on my wee mutant .45 ACP Enfield. It's a solid piece of kit.

They do indeed ship to Canada, and it was certainly quick enough to Edmonton.

The Armalon steel mount out of the UK is probably the best S&K type mount out there. You can remove it from the rifle without removing the scope from the mount. Not cheap, but then quality rarely ever is.

A truly zeroable, no-drill mount for the No4 is a long term project of mine.

looking good tinman now we need a range report

After sighting it in tonight, I backed it up to 200 yards to see what she could do. Shot off a bag like I normally do, but it was strange to be able to see the holes in the paper.

Might I add that this group was shot using my cast 13 grain red dot loads seated just off the lead. They shoot low but are deadly accurate!!

This group measured 1.8" center to center which is the best group I've done with this rifle. Can't believe a 1942 rifle can shoot sub moa at 200!!

good shooting tinman now I need to pony up and test out a S&K mount myself one day

It's rock solid but like mentioned above it's lacking in the eye relief department. If I was going to do it again I would look for a scope that is a little shorter on the back end so I'm not so far back. I won't complain though as I seem to be shooting well with this setup so far.
