It is not the same as Zig Heil. It is not a Nazi reference. Call it a nationalistic slogan if you must. I spent my time in Donbas.... have yet to meet the fascist/Nazi's that the Russian propaganda machine likes to paint the UA soldiers as. As for Pecheneg saying there are no Russian soldiers in Donbas ... I have seen captured passports with my own eyes.
Most people in this country are completely unaware of their history, at least,the history that wasn’t taught in school. For that matter, people,in general, give history little value......which breeds ignorance,prevents old mistakes from repeating.
I agree with those points but not that the Ukrainian military slogan is analogous with sig heil

my family has been here since 1652, every male in my family has been part of every single military conflict of this country from les plaines d’abraham to afghanistan.
my family doesnt need history lessons, we have lived it.

Let me give you some facts.
Putin was a Colonel in the KGB and the head of the KGB in East Germany.
The KGB, Tscheka, FSB... whatever it was called in its various forms was the worst criminal organization in the history of mankind.
Nobody will ever know how many people they killed, some estimates are close to 100 million.

Katyn, the holodomor, the gulag, that's the legacy of these people.
When the western allies liberated Germany at the end of WWII they liberated concentration camps.
There is a concentration camp outside Berlin called Sachsenhausen; when the communists took over the eastern part of Germany they just repurposed it and imprisoned "nazis"; except that nazis included anybody who owned land or property in eastern Germany or opposed totalitarian regimes.
AT the beginning of WWII the Germans invaded Poland only after Molotov and Ribbentrop had signed the secret pact dividing Poland.
Ribbentrop was hanged after the Nuremberg Trials and rightfully though, Molotov unfortunately was not.
Then Stalin and his scum invaded the eastern part of Poland, the baltic, Finland.
Ask the people in Eastern Europe, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland... how they feel about the Russians.
I'm sure those Polish officers massacred by the KGB at Katyn would have been treated better by the Nazis.
How about the Forest Brothers in the baltic who fought the stalinists into the sixties?
And don't get personal with me. Growing up I had family and friends who had survived East German prisons, labour camps and the Gulag.
I was a soldier in the Cold War, when we (Nato, including Canadians in Lahr in the Black Forest) were facing them across the Czech border to preserve the freedom of at least the Western Part of Europe.
That is the tradition were Putin and his criminal scum come from.
Shooting down a Malayan Airliner (and lying about it), poisoning exil Russians with Polonium. They are the same criminal scum they always were.
The west should cripple their economy and financial system with the most severe sanctions we could conceive and give us much support as possible to the Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic States.
Yes, I have a worldview,
educated by the facts that I grew up knowing family and friends who experienced communist labour camps first hand, seeing cold war realities and also, when they still existed, traveling in the "socialist paradises" ####holes of then Eastern Europe.
Later, when I lived in the US I befriended some Vietnamese who had lived through communist re-education camp.
So yes, I have an opinion on communists, socialists and Putin and his crooks.
And those same members here (Canadians living in this country.. - on the other side of the world) claim to have participated in the Ukrainian conflict by flying military air support missions for the Ukrainian side, while openly criticizing (in the same discussion!) Putin and Russians for taking part in that same conflict (with the goal of trying to prevent NATO expansion right on their border...). Talk about a paradox!
But honestly, nothing surprises me anymore. Almost every Ukrainian that i know has gone full retard after this thing has started. They won't listen to any logical arguments, and become extremely hostile as soon as any related topic comes up. It's sad to see otherwise decent group of people completely succumbing to brainwashing and propaganda to the point of being borderline brain dead.

it was specifically used by Ukrainian Nazis saluting Nazis during WW 2 how it is not neo-Nazi if it is revitalized now... passports of Russian soldiers doenst mean Russian army is there. All it means that some decided to volunteer. Question is what u were doing there? Does it mean NATO is officially now in war with Russia...? if u were there as a volunteer it is one story... but NovoRossia army also has captured passports of many citizens of NATO countries former soldiers or "soldiers on vacation". This is just a nature of Hybrid Wars.

Not even the Russians are claiming that. The Russian Governments started declassifying documents in the nineties and apologies have actually happened.
In 2010 the Russian Duma passed a resolution stating that "the massacre of Polish POWs at Katyn... were carried out by the NKVD on direct orders of Stalin and others..."
With so many declassified documents now in Polish possession that's impossible to deny anyways.
(BTW not defending the German conduct on the Eastern Front, plenty of crimes to go around there, Babi Yar...)
