If you really want one pm me, might sell mine.
There is currently one for sale by "sampler", I know first hand it's in excellent condition and has a lower round count. Comes with same Holster we use. If you're still interested.
Wow what awesome customer service for the public and the unfortunate officers who have to carry this POS. Considering that every major US law enforcement agency that chose the Px4 storm as a pistol has dumped them for Glocks and S&W you would think that Beretta would go that extra mile for the people that still carry their junk. Sorry I digress, good luck in your search the C model might be an option and I have heard rumours of people converting the F model to D.I contacted the Beretta dealer in Canada directly (Stoger Canada) and they said they will NOT import D models to sell to the public even if you are CBSA/LEO. They'll sell you an F model for the same price as the Glock IOP deal but for that price....buy a Glock.
I broke down and bought the Type C PX4 Storm Beretta NIB and am fine with it. The only change was the barrel was replaced with a 106mm to make it restricted. The trigger still has a bit of travel comparable to the Type D, a little less but still effective to use for the type of practice I need it for. Some say it's only SA, I say it's a partial DA since you still have to make the hammer travel to complete the cycle.
Personally I like it and am happy with it. Put the first 200 rounds through it today and it was flawless in performance.
Where did you get the type c?
Another option would be to import one through one of the sight sponsors such as Irunguns. I have seen police surplus D models going for $350. A lot of them were in 40 or 45 though. Since the D models have been going for $950 on the Equipment Exchange it may still be feasible even with import fee and replacement barrel. There are a lot of these pistols on the market in the States right now since so many agencies dumped them.
Looked at importing, Irunguns was an option but when weighing the variables such as having the shorter barrel removed prior to import, sourcing a 106mm barrel (which I couldn't really find availability), importing fees and the dreaded exchange rate (1.25 % approx.) the price would be closer to what you could get on EE. I recall that the Type D's were going for $950.00 NIB a few years ago so the price hasn't really changed. I got my Type C NIB for less than what I would've paid for the Type D.
Nothing wrong with your suggestion and maybe some day I'll do the import route.
Questar has one barrel in stock for $150 in .40 s&w. If you can pick up one of the .40 Px4 Police trade ins for $300 to $400 it might be a good alternative. Some of the ones I saw were being sold with safari land holster and mags. If anyone was going to import one I'd grab that barrel up.
Saskatoon Gunworks (they're a sponsor on CGN) sold me one, they called it an enhanced DAO. It is the Type C model and I know that they had another as I just recently checked for a co-worker.
Thanks for the info! Too bad the website isn't working to check the prices.
What they show on the site for PX4 is not what I got. I suggest you email info@saskatoongunworks.com or call and ask for Darren. Great service and great to deal with. Shipping was a little high but it is expedited and most likely insured.
Will send off an email. Thanks for your help and enjoy your new piece!
