I’m using the old Win AA compression formed hulls and Claybuster 410 wads. Load was 14.4gr. H110, making 1250fps with Win 209 primers. Crimps are not all perfect, but pretty close. I had also tested the next powder bushing up, dropping 15.2gr. for 1300fps. Both patterned well and I decided to go with the milder load. But, I’m loading 100 of the 1300fps load to shoot this weekend and see if that makes any difference.
I have another load going 1300fps in the newer HS hulls with Cheddite primers. I might test them to see if they shoot cleaner. I’ve only shot those in my 1100, as my 12ga 725 was piercing Cheddite primers and I don’t want that issue in my .410 725.
I plan to buy some Alliant 410… if it ever comes back into supply.

What claybuster wad ? if you are using the HS wads in the old one piece hulls they don't seal very well as they are designed for the HS hull. That may be why you are not getting a clean burn.
