Quad Rail CQB M4'ish Project Rifle - "TROY" BUIS added

Scarecrow, you will be able to get an 11.5" barrel infront of the rail. My pipe is almost 13" at the crown and there is a few inches infront of the rail.

Didn't want to go that short as I like to keep as much velocity as possible. I like the look I ended up with.

Jerry...could you post some pics of the bedding and some instructions? I've never bedded an action.

There is lots more info in the 10/22 sticky at the top of the forum but here are pics of the Tapco bedded.

You rough up the rear area. I used a Dremel and some carbide bits. The part under the barrel is partially filled with whatever solid material you have on hand. Glue in with epoxy/bedding compound.

Lots of release agent on the action. Put some bedding compound on the two areas. Assemble. Let cure. Pull apart and hopefully this is what you see.

The Tapco stock has my threading of the barrel starting extactly where the stock stops, looks to me like your rail goes further then that. Who is the maker of your 13" barrel?

Here to show the length of my shorty;

Ditched my fakepoint for an AK dot sight that doesnt wash out in sunlight and added a new chinese laser that scopes in with dials just like a scope.

That looks good. Is the laser red or green? I've heard (don't know for sure) that the green ones are easier to see in the daylight. How far away can you see the dot and how big is it at that distance?

I just got my Tapco T6 in the mail today! The plastic is a little bit simple feeling, and the molds could have been a bit finer. But meh, it's $100.

I have a question though. What is the purpose of the brass looking washer? For the sling loop?

I received my rail in the mail today. I'm quite impressed by the quality. Now I need my T-6 (shipped last Friday) and my vertical grip which is also on it's way. I hope there are no mounting issued with the rail if I'm not using the top part of the stock with a bull barrel.

The rail is sized for the bull barrel. The tapco stock isn't. You will need to open up the forend for the barrel to fit. You will also have to relieve the sides and bottom for the rails to sit properly on the stock.

All make sense once the parts are in your hands. Let's see the finished product.

Just got my "Troy" BUIS battle sights in. They seem to be very well made. Look great and function properly. Very impressed. Sights look tough enough to survive on an AR.

I have indexed the BUIS so that the front post and dot conincide. Hopefully, that will also mean that the POI is the same. Will see next time I am at the range.

Also, have some Tactical Inc mags coming. Except for a light/laser, this rig is done.

Will fit the HB GM barrel I have and post that pic soon.

Cutting the barrel on a non-rest is makes prohib.

You can only cut barrels on restricted firearms.
