I am looking to pick up a carbine length quad rail for my AR and was wondering if you all could give some suggestions and/or feedback on yours? I would like to keep the price as low as possible without buying crap. Also, it is a Norc AR, so I don't want my quad rail to be worth more than the rifle! :p

Thanks for any and all help.

We have Daniel Defense on the way to us soon. Pricing will be up on the website this coming week, and it will be good ;)

Since it's a Norc and you don't want to spend great gobs of money...how about a UTG...I know the purists will cry but the thing works fine and I haven't heard of any issues with it.

I didn't know they made a quad rail for the AR...

Who sells the YHM? I would love to go the Daniel Defense route, but budget will dictate, and I want to keep all options open...

I don't know why people complain some much about the Nork AR's. In my mind they are not that bad. Sure the Q/C inspector's were always out to lunch but they are not that bad. No the true question you should be asking is do you want free floating handguards or just a regular quad rail. Also alot of them don't have to be that exspensive but I would defenatly stear clear of the low end model's just for a headache free point of view.

Well said, and thank you for the sound advice. I do want a free float system.

Fabsports sold me my YHM but know why they dont have them now, maybe out of stock. I would Email them.

I got my quad rail from Fabsports and you should email them or call them if what you're looking for is out of stock. The quad rail I was looking for wasn't even listed for sale, but they carry other YHM items so it was easy for them to get the quad rail I wanted.

I reccomend the following

Troy $150 USD and rail's have to be attached, plus if you want more rails it will cost you more. Plus Make sure to lock tight the screw's and check them from time to time for them coming lose.

DD Omega $300 These are hard to put on properly but once on they are GTG!

YHM $150 USD Nice and light but I have damaged this rail so be carefull wiith it.

Also yes I have owned all 3 and shot with all of them & these are all my personal reflections on each.

IMHO YHM is the way to go in terms of bang for buck, but if I had to go to war with one, it would be a knight's armament quad rail, the YHM being on the fragile side. In battle I also believe free-float would be a lot less important.

I really like the Troy 10” MRF-MX that I have on my RRA. It's a 10" rail on a 10.5" barrel. I'm actually planning on putting the 12" version on my Stag with a 12.5" barrel because it's done everything I wanted and I like the look too. Right now my stag has a Samson rail on it and it's been great too.

I realized after the fact that you can't see much detail on the Troy rail because I have Falcon Industries rail covers over the whole thing.

The guy asked for something relatively cheap for his Norc...hence the UTG route. I agree the rails being mentioned are better but do you really want to spend 25% of the rifle cost on the rail? I do have a Norc AR also and it's had the UTG on it...no problems at all...and it sure didn't cost upwards of $200 (once you figure in taxes/shipping). Try more like $55...I'd rather put my money into the internals (which I did)...better BCG and trigger. To be fair...I've since Magpul'd my Norc so the UTG isn't on anymore but I didn't take it off 'cause it's crap...took it off 'cause I'm a Magpul whore...:p
