Do they lock your bolt back when empty?

I was in TargetSports the other day and they had a bunch in, however I think they are all reserved from pre-orders.

Ordered mine from the hospital bed a couple hours before surgery (Wife was not impressed when I passed her the phone to give VISA details :p ), they arrived the same day I was released  Now to go shoot em, when my belly can stand the recoil that is. 1 quick pic, I seen some questions it may help answer.

I discovered that installing my magpul "Ranger Plates" on the bottoms of my new Questar 10rnd mags turned them into 9 round mags. :(
The rear 'leg' of the follower hits the inside edge of the vertical 'catch' on the Ranger base which causes the follower to bottom on the catch instead of the base. The Ranger baseplate 'internal' base also intrudes into the magazine. I could start Dremelling, but don't really want to do that. Yet.
The 'big loop' bases in the picture above must be a different construction than the Ranger plates..?

slick39, read the other 11 pages for the answer... this has been rehashed so many times.. be happy that we can shoot 10 round mags in our ARs !!!!!!

How can it be legal? I thought they have to be pinned to 5 rounds in all semi autos?

Don't feel bad... most people do not understand our magazines laws. That's why we posted a very detailed explanation of what the law actually says and what we are and are not allowed to have...

http://questar.ca/deals/LAR15_mag_ruling.htm

A semi-auto rifle can have as many rounds as the magazine itself is legally allowed to hold. It is the magazine that is classified by the legislation (not the firearm)... and based on the MAGAZINES' classification the legislation specifies if there are maximum capacity limits and what those limits are.

Read the page on our website... you'll then know more about our magazine laws than 90% of the gun owners out there :)

I just got back from an evening at the range. I had 5 of the new mags with Tactipul floor plates. Each mag held 10 rounds no problem. I could insert them fully loaded with the bolt closed just fine. I put 160 rounds total through my 6920 with the 10.5" LMT upper tonight. Zero failures, the bolt locked back every time, all mags dropped free every time.

BLESS YOU MARK!!!!

Back from the range trying them out myself. Anyone else find that the springs are a little light? I had one malfunction where the rifle failed to pick up a round, it seemed that the round was kinda jammed down a bit, and not quite at the feed lips.

XCR - Bolt hold open works good, tight to load against closed bolt, gotta give it a whack.
SL8 - Spring not even close to stong enough for the bolt catch.

Rounds 6-10 are totally worth it!

Well just tried mine as well. Unfortunatly mine have weak springs so no bolt hold open for me until Mark gets the replacement springs.

A few of mine had feed problems until I'd run a couple rounds through them then they were good to go (with one exception and I'll try to work the kinks out of that one tomorrow).

OK, here's something I noticed with the new Questar mags. USGI on the left, Questar on the right. Notice how the top round on the left (looking at the mag) sits lower on the 10 round mag than the one in the USGI mag? On two of my mags as the round comes forward (only on the one side, other side feeds flawless) it goes straight forward just below the feed ramp and jams. Changing followers (with another Magpull follower) does not help.

So what's my problem? Feed lips, follower, god just hates me?

Edited to ad: this is not a slam against Questar or the mags. My other three work fine. I just want to make the other two reliable.
