Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I can't find the info. Question: how does Frontier proceed with non-restricted firearm purchases by Quebec residents who have a valid PAL?

According to the CFC directive, the onus is on the firearms owner (in Quebec) to register their non-restricted firearm with the CFC once the firearm enters the province, after the sale (which makes sense). However, to the dismay of many gun owners here, some supporting CGN dealers have taken in upon themselves to "go beyond the law" and complete the registration/transfer at the point of sale.

What is Frontier's policy on this, since no legal obligation exists for the seller to proceed with a transfer?

Seriously? You just asked if its true if a company will "go beyond the law" on a public forum?

I would think Frontier would obey with all required laws just like any other gun dealer/owner in Canada does.

My apoligies, I have a cold and I read that wrong!

The memo from the firearms center has told us to continue this doing this. They have not been very helpfull in updating info on this.

Ok, thanks for the info... so in essence, until the CPC puts its' pants on and this injunction BS is thrown out, it looks like there's gonna be lots of private / out-of-province buys for the large majority of the poor bastards living out here.

Thank you for the quick reply. Please post an update if/when this "requirement" changes.

P.S. As a business who will lose out on this situation, it might be worth calling them up and asking to provide the legal details of this requirement, as it smells like it's just something they came up with on their own. Nowhere in the law does it say that the Quebec injunction affects individuals or businesses elsewhere in the country, just those individuals "privileged" enough to live in this Liberal cesspool (Quebec).

Hey Hey HEY!!!! I take exception to this remark!!! The Socialist Facist Republic of Quebec has only your best interest at heart ....... Stalin and Hitler would be proud!!!!!

Bought a new shotgun today in Ontario, no registration certificate but they recorded all my info and when I asked they said "it's for the RCMP"
So point being, the firearm laws are more confusing now that this gun registry is out than they have ever been before.

Im sure there are those in Quebec who would like to make an example of any gun owner they can nail to the wall. I would not be so excited about offering yourself up on a public fourm to this.

No worries, followed all the rules 100% but don't see things getting any better here. I will be in Ontario before summer as voting with my feet is the only real vote that will count here now days. Our tax dollars will go where they are better appreciated.

That's right, no one said they'd be breaking any rules... even the senseless and discriminatory ones, like those that are currently punishing Canadian citizens who happen to reside in Quebec.

These forums are simply meant to exchange theoretical ideas and there's no law against that yet (but at this rate there might be one coming soon... and will probably also originate from the People's Republic of Kébékistan!).

Sad thing is that all of Canada is STILL paying for a registry that should've been officially terminated in this country in early April.

June will probally not come soon enogh for your guys in Quebec.

This is just shocking...
In reality, it is especially for upcoming elections the Liberals cling to register... They want support for those who want to register and who do not usually vote Liberal ...

Increasingly, they spread lies in the make sensationalism...
After That, OMFG poeple say we must keep that thing !!!

For example, they say that the police will not know what weapons a person has in his possession when they do a search... It's just some bull-s**t... I know a police officer and I can say that it has take a special warrant to gain access to this register... What happens in less than 1% of cases...

They remind us of the tragedies of the past, again and again, like Concordia, Corporal Lortie, etc., etc. ... As if their arms have been registered, they would not have committed a crime ... ROFL They leave out the insane in psychiatric hospitals and after that they think that a registry is the right solution ...

You know what is write on our car license plates??
JE ME SOUVIENS = I REMEMBER
How have we already forgotten all the millions of dollards swallowed up in the registry... and what was the result??

Honestly, I am embarrassed to be a frog right now...

Canadian first!!!

Hello,

I am a French Canadian living in Quebec. My parents are French Canadian, so I am about as "québécois" as you can get. However, I consider myself a CANADIAN first! Since this injunction I feel like a second class citizen. I mean, I feel like an east Berliner in germany during the cold war! Looking over the wall at the freedom on the othe side. Truly for the first time in my life I feel completely separated from the rest of Canada. It is scary and depressing. All of this due to our nanny, corrupt, communist government and a few women scared of their own shadow.

I would like to say to all the Canadians out of Quebec that still support us and send words of solidarity and encouragement, THANK YOU. Please keep it up and help us anyway you can. We are not all socialists and separatist. We want to be Canadian above all!

Firearms Licence/Registration is under the Government of Canada (Federal Legislation)
NOT under Provical Jurisdiction

They want to have a provincial register and use the actual register...
If they must start again from the beginning, it will be extremely expensive and they will have less support...

That's why they want to keep the data...

Quebec will win , Now do you really think that Charest will let this thing die (noway) the judge in this procieding was appointed judge by Charest (liberal) him self it
s just a stalll tactic on the judges parte
the only way us quebecers to win this fight is the ruling of the hights court in canada , and Charest knows that if it goes that far then he has no connection there

They will finish by taking our guns or we will have to pay to keep them and even then
It's a very sad situation for us Quebecers and the rest of Canada be carefull this ruling will open the door for other provinces my 2 cents
