I would much appreciate a response to the following, thanks ....

Need to order a set of Talley 1 pc lightweight 1in mounts for a Weatherby Vanguard (7mm-08) - assuming that would be the standard set (not the extended version)?

Do these even come in an extended version?

On virtually any rifle, the front mount and the rear mount can both be rotated 180 degrees. The actual ring is located at the end of each of the bases; rotating one or the other or both allows for a great deal of leeway in mounting the scope itself.

They do indeed have an extended version

Thanks for the responses. I was able to reconfirm my assumption - the standard set is the correct one.

Depending on the optic you are putting on

No problem there - it's a 3-9x40mm Leupold. Never looked closely at a Vanguard receiver so wasn't sure regarding the correct version of the mount ....

I concur those are very good quality and sit somewhat "seamlessly" atop a receiver. Have the 1 pc low mounts installed on some of my rifles and haven't experienced any issues so far.

The only thing to check with the Talleys is that some sets require some lapping for true alignment to mitigate marking of the scope tube when installed with the proper amount of torque.

A true 1 piece design that requires no lapping is the DNZ Game Reaper mounts.
Absolute solid true units.

Big fan and yeah the extended set likely overhang so just get the regular set it will make for a cleaner look and fit, no gap under the base between it and barrel etc. Have used these rings on everything for a long long time now, no issues.

Get the Extra Low to fit as close to barrel as possible. I used the Extra Low One Piece for all of my Rem700s, a Win70, and a Kimber Montana, in relation to Leupold VX2 and VX3 with 40mm bezels.

Excellent suggestion. Ordered the low since I wasn't too sure of Vanguard barrel clearance .....

I have Talleys on almost all my guns and never heard or encountered this issue.

Most of mine have been good, but there were a few years about 2010 where I found I had to lap the rings for true alignment. (Was starting to check more for this at that time too) Some were worse than others.
But as with any manufacturer, some lemons get through the QA/QC checks.

might not work for you at all depending on your face position.
