On virtually any rifle, the front mount and the rear mount can both be rotated 180 degrees. The actual ring is located at the end of each of the bases; rotating one or the other or both allows for a great deal of leeway in mounting the scope itself.

The only thing to check with the Talleys is that some sets require some lapping for true alignment to mitigate marking of the scope tube when installed with the proper amount of torque.

Get the Extra Low to fit as close to barrel as possible. I used the Extra Low One Piece for all of my Rem700s, a Win70, and a Kimber Montana, in relation to Leupold VX2 and VX3 with 40mm bezels.
I have Talleys on almost all my guns and never heard or encountered this issue.

Excellent suggestion. Ordered the low since I wasn't too sure of Vanguard barrel clearance .....
