I have a of my Rem 700 .338WM Classic with sights, what is the best QR system I can put on this gun? (read "most reliable")

I've had good luck with the Leupold QRW's. They have a soild cross bolt in the Weaver style bases, and come in several heights. I like the low rings, and when removed, the wide low "V" style of the Weaver bases allow you to see your iron sights, this is the best combo I've found for this application. I haven't used this on anything larger than 30-06.

I've used Leupold QR ring/mount system for several years on a .35 Whelen with stout 250 gr. loads, and have always had it remain as set, return to Zero after re-mount, etc. NO problems at all.
I like it much better than the other systems on the market ( including the Leupold QRW) All others seem to have big levers that get in the way, or very big price tags in the case of EAW or Euro claw mounts. Leupold's can mount nice and low too.

The best QR set-up I have used to date is the Talley system. I have used the Leupold and the various Weaver knock offs, the Talleys are by far the nicest setup and the bases have two shoulders that the rings butt up against one in front and one behind the ring, when installed properly the scope moves neither front or back when the levers are loosened only up for removal.

Hi
Ive been using the leupold qr on a remington 700 with a b square base mount, 30 06 and have had no problems. I use them because I like open sites when I carry the rifle on the quad( in the box and it has a folding stock on the rifle) so the scope does not get bounced when going into locations.

I have Leupold QR's on a 35 Whelen as well ... a 7600 pump with a 1-4x
VariX II in Extra Low QR rings. Lowest mount I could find ! They work great.

Use them (QR's) on a Rem 700 25-06 and Browning T-bolt .22 too.
Very strong, and they DO return very close to their original zero when you take them off.
