Why do you want QD rings?
I suggest that you go with the standard rings with the heavy hitters.
I've used Leupold QR ring/mount system for several years on a .35 Whelen with stout 250 gr. loads, and have always had it remain as set, return to Zero after re-mount, etc.
Quote:How are the bases to look over, if using the irons?
- no problem. nice smooth matte flat area ahead of the factory Remington sights.
The best QR set-up I have used to date is the Talley system. I have used the Leupold and the various Weaver knock offs, the Talleys are by far the nicest setup and the bases have two shoulders that the rings butt up against one in front and one behind the ring, when installed properly the scope moves neither front or back when the levers are loosened only up for removal.
