Well, I wasn't able to pick it up until 8PM tonight, and then had a late dinner and visiting with some guests that arrived today. So, I was chomping at the bit to unpack it but didn't until 10 minutes ago (10:30PM) and took a quick pic.

First thoughts:

Well built. Very solid.. actually, must emphasize, feels very solid and well built. Quite impressive, actually. I love the AR linage for the grip/trigger/safety.

Not so sure if I like the Butler Creek 25rd mags that came with it, but hey, if they work, what the heck. Beats 5 stinkin' rounds. Thank-you rimfire! ;)

First pic (crappy, I know), just freshly out of the box. More info with impressions within the next few days as I select a scope for this beauty and hopefully get it to the range.

How long of a wait, Bernse?
I gave the Edge a call end of Sept. At that time I believe I was told I was #72 or something like that (I think out of 50-ish rifles). I gave my CC/PAL info so they knew I was serious.

So, being I got one I suspect that many people either backed out or where unreachable by TSE... either that, or they got more rifles that it sounded like..but I suspect the prior. I suspect one of the Edge guys could tell us if they want and bump into this thread.

OK, mine hit the door today. No buyers remorse, it's sweet.

The only two areas I've noticed that are not wonderful are the safety, and the rail.

The safety fits horribly. It flops around and looks like a really poor quality part. I'll be replacing it ASAP.

The rail seems slightly undersized. My Holosite is very loose fitting on it. I'll be shimming it with one or two layers of electrical tape for the range tommorrow.

It's a very dense feeling gun, with a signifigant weight forward. Kind of reminds me of the Sig 550.

I was warned that the buttstock is kind of airsoftish, and it is. I think I might fill it with foam to solidify it a bit.

The mag well seems to hold the Butler Creek mags well, possibly on the loose side.

I think I may have gotten lucky... my safety seems real tight. Can't say anything about the rail yet though, haven't tried to mount the scope.

I will agree that front end is heavy. Mind you, you could use that big bull barrel as a pry bar it's so friggen thick. ;)

Still looking for a bipod that I can put on it without drilling holes :(

Why would they have gone Weaver and not Picatinny?
Good question
It might have something to do with the fact that a 10/22 comes with a little Weaver rail? Trying to appeal to the same market?

I am no expert as all you know :D

would the picatinny be more time milling out than a weaver? looks like it.

time = $
