R22 Problems? Anyone else suffering?

I suggest you also CC a copy to the dealer who sold you rifles as well and also send him a copy of all return emails it is important that the dealer gets all the information as well
 
I wonder how many people are having trouble with theirs?
A quick look back through the last few pages reveals 11 people on CGN!!

You can effectively scratch me from that list. My only major issue was a broken stock which has been replaced by Rhineland.

My only continuing complaint is the cheap construction of the current factory stock. Since the new G3 adapter is being shipped, i suspect this issue is being dealt with.

tried it last sunday, shoots like crap.
I am on the list for a new bolt also.
just bought the new steellips mags yesterday and will try them out this weekend with 3 or 4 diff brands of ammo.

The best In my experience is Federal Gameshock product code #710 followed by Federal Champion bulk packed #745C. Federal Champion #510 isn't horrible, but it's a 99% performer once the gun is broken in.

I've got 8 BC Steel lips mags, and all run 100% with these two ammo types.

Don't waste your time with Winchester Expert, CCI Velocitor. Winchester Wildcat is at best a 90% performer, not worth my time.

If I had to pick only one ammo, it would be the #710 Federal Gameshock. Tight groups and 100% feeding.

CCi quickshok
CCI velocitor
Remington Cyclone
Remington gameloads
American eagle high velocity

The most effective ones were the remington gameloads.
 
This is the latest reply I have recieved from RA

the bolts are finished and work very well. We are just waiting on the

Sounds like another excuse, to me

If anyone trys the idea of swapping bolts with a 10/22 please let us know what happens...It maybe wishfull thinking but if that was the solution to our problem it would be worth it.
 
I was interested in getting one this spring but with all the problems that are poping up I have decided to wait till all the Issues are resolved before I buy one .

- I have to say that I liked the look of them when I first saw them, but I got a Ruger 10/22 for my dad (Christmas present) and I have a Ruger MkII Target and I think we will be set for now.

I hope everything is resolved for all the owners that are having difficulty. You have my sympathy.
 
I got one back in November and finally had a chance just today to put more than 1 mag through it.

First: the good news. It's a tack driver. Fires every round that is chambered.

Bad News: Loooves to stovepipe/fail to eject. I think I pulled through 20 rounds once, just once without a problem.

Usually likes to chamber/fire the first round, maybe 2 if I'm lucky, then jam. Remove mag, clean out jammed crap, replace, then good to go again for a while.. maybe.

The extracting issues are easily my biggest headache.
 
Bernse, I have the same problems as you, I have tried EVERY type of high velocity (plated/lead) that wally world, CT and lebarons carries and none corrected the problem. So don't bother. Still waiting for the new bolt to see if it will fix the feeding and extracting problems.
 
I've had decent success with Remmington Yellow Jackets... I finially took the whole thing apart to clean and inspect it and with about 2000 rounds through I don't have any real problems...

I will say the chamber is really tight I have some olders YJ's that have a little corrosion on them and they have a tendancy to get stuck but they seem to eject well when fired just won't come out when you try to unload....

This sound like a common problem with the 10/22 bolt and magazine. On the 10/22 and of course the R22, the round ejects on a small lip on the magazine. The other ejector in the rifle is there to eject the round if the magazine is removed. The "stove piping" problem is caused by the poor EXTRACTOR. . Remove the extractor and clean the hole where the sprig fits. Ensure the extractor hook is sharp and not worn on the claw. Some 10/22 owners advocate bending the claw inwards slightly more. Volquartson and others sell a good replacement extractor to cure this problem.
Watch out that when you slide the extractor out that the little piston/pin doesn't fly across the room and get lost.

I was doing a good clean of my rifle and lost the spring but found the pin. SPRONG!!! Never found it. Gave me a reason to order a replacement from Brownell's.
 
Has anyone heard from TSE or RA regarding the "new" bolts that we may or may-not be receiving. According to RA we should have had the problem fixed some-time ago
 
Has anybody heard from Rhineland or found and alternative solutions (with in reason) to the FTF problem with the R22's or has anybody returned their R22's for a refund yet?
