how much do these retail in canada for?

and i cant believe they are non restricted

Why would they be restricted? Looks? :)

yeah becuase there are .22 that look exactly like AR's and are restricted and the ones that look like AK's are prohibited. In canada if i looks bad ass its either restricted or prohibited

I had a look at the site and what went into putting this rifle together and am I wrong but is this just a 10/22 action dressed up in an awsome kit . Not comming down on the rifle but ........

Take a close look at how it's put together. You're getting a heavy free float barrel. You get a full length weaver rail on top for whatever sighting system you choose. The grip and stock are far better than the Ruger. The stock trigger ought to be at least as good as the factory Ruger, and installing a match trigger is damn simple.

Yes, at it's heart it's a 10/22, but I tend to think that for a little more than double the cost of a 10/22, you are getting a lot more rifle.

Of course, my opinion and $1.35 gets you a large Timmies

True ,but how much further ahead are you than working from a reciver and building the same thing yourself as a lot of our members have and then you have the pride of building it yourself . You haven't even gotten the rifle and already you are trying to figure out if the trigger is eaasy ot replace , just like we do with a 10/22 , by the way the rifle uses a trigger system from an ar15

Cost of stock gun $290
Bull Barrel $150 (taper fit, not threaded)
Weaver rail $ 40 (Limited to reciever)
Stock $125 (POS Butler Creek folder)

Resale value ??? Value of scrap but new parts ??? Accuracy ???

Search R22 on the Black Guns forum. I may have done some research on the design already. If you don't find it to your liking, or don't feel it's a good value for the money, by all means pass on it.

I've built up a lot of guns from scratch, from AR-15's to 1911's. I appreciate the semi-custom shops that take the time to put out a well thought out product, even if it isn't entirely origional.

Sure, I could buy a $350 Norinco 1911, and tune it to my tastes, but frankly for the $1350 that my STI Trojan cost me, I got exactly what I wanted for less than I would have spent in parts and gunsmithing.

Sorry Canuck , I think that you seem to feel that I have wronged you in some way . I was just post the first couple things that I felt when I looked over the rifle.
I wouldn't want this to degrade to a pissing contest comparing what you spent over what I spent . Just relax , I just made a couple of observations ,I never said I didn't like it . Just wanted feedback on my personal observations .

I guess it's just a matter of value for money. I understand the desire to make the gun work for your tastes. When nobody builds what you desire, than you build your own. I just don't get why people will buy a bargin basement gun then pimp it out, only to spend nearly as much or more than a decent off the shelf gun.

Sort of like buying a Mazda, then reworking the body, glass, engine, and exhaust, only to spend nearly as much as a new Porche Boxter. If you at some point try to sell it, you rarely get much more than the value of the base model you started with.

Any one know when and where I can get this MP5 version?

It is still in the prototyping stage. I wouldn't expect to see it on Rhineland's web site for another 6 months or more. Personally I doubt he'll begin production until he can come up with a winning folding stock that won't radically boost the retail price.

If you rush, you might get one from the first order at TSE right now, but I wouldn't count on it. There is another order later in the winter.
