I recently acquired a beautiful 617 22 and I finally got out to the range with it. This is my first double action revolver and I'm quite impressed. It's not quite as accurate as my Brownig Challenger but it's still pretty accurate. Interestingly I found I could get better groups shooting double action rather than sigle. Even though the single action trigger pull is probably less than 3lbs with no creep at all. The double action is very smooth as well. I found I could get about 1in groups at 15 yds double action. At 25 they "opened" up some, I'd say around 5in, probably more due to my eyes than the gun. I ordered a Weaver rail for it as I have a handgun scope and a red dot I'm going to try.
So overall I highly recommend this gun to anyone looking for a good 22 revolver. Are there more accurate guns out there, sure but this one is quite accurate and really fun to shoot. TC

. Actually IPSC is a really fun shooting discipline in which you draw from a holster and engage multiple targets and yes shoot really fast. What I did at the range though was just shoot 5 shots as fast as I could at a 10yd target. TC
