I never mentioned reliability, so role your eyes back into your head.
Are you actually talking down an emoticon??

Now, which is better 45 acp or 9 mm?
You made a general statement about AR's that is flat out false. They are good tools, some are great some are not, but in all the platform has been excellent but to make a general statement that AR's are more accurate out of the box than swiss arms is simply false, misleading, a lie and down right ignorant. Why the need to mislead fine folks who are interested in Swiss arms and the inherent accuracy of the system?

Just wait until they finish a blink, and the eye is open. Eyelid meat is a terrible thing to waste.I shoot bears all the time with my classic green, its so accurate im able to shoot them in the eye (to save the pelt) at 300 yds.

Perhaps I could have worded my statement better...The Norincos and other bottom feeder parts of questionable quality aside, I think the manufacturing (and in particular barrels) of ARs has seen a massive increase in quality in the last 15 years.
I honestly believe one could screw on a name brand 'rack grade' barrel from Colts, (definately) Diamaco, RRA, Armalite, etc. and easily go head to head with the Sig, and in most cases come out ahead.
YMMV![]()

I don't know if you were following my ulterior motive type post, but relax, this is just a discussion. Beltfed is a very knowledgeable shooter, with some skill to back it up with. Nobody here was doing any real comparison of apples to apples. Rigrat was kind enough to share his experience with his new toy. We all should be happy someone finds the time to go out, have some fun and put some bullets down range. We all need to do that more.koldt, the swiss arms is one platform with one type of barrel, AR's have a variety of variables from manufacturer to manufacturer and thus vary in price and quality and accuracy, the swiss arms don't so to compare a multitude of AR's against one rifle is just not a knowledgeable comparison. 45 to 9 mm is again not the same comparison, if you were to say compare the swiss arms to one manu and style of ar then the comparo's could be made with certainty. Beltfeds boneheaded comment would mean every 300 ar norc could outshoot a SAN at 10 times the prices... He may believe that but the real world knows better. Some tweaked AR' are one holers at 100M we all know that, SAN's aren't we know that too. What we all also know is we don't need wingnuts making stupid claims and not backing it up with facts, unlike the OP did, He went out shot a nice rifle, shot an excellent group and showed us. Great post and started a great thread

Rigrat is also very knowledgeable, and a no BS kind of guy, so I think we can all benefit from his report.
I'm not touting anything; just laying out the reality check for the person who posted the above nonsense (and apparently you as well).but to show up on this thread touting the AR are being collectively better than the SAN and the DI system so much more accurate than the piston is
My appologies to all -save you.... to hijack the thread from the OP who was discussing the accuracy of his own rifle
Surely, you cannot expect us to answer that unless you clarify whether the intended use is for bear defense or not...
etc etc etc
You are wound just a little too tight, aren't ya..
To the other guys: but what if one wanted to shoot an unladen swallow at a distance greater than 300 yards, but less than 500?
Is it an African or European Swallow?
