Rangers get their SCAR

:p

We need to get this guy to the RMC ASAP. He is our future!!!

The future of the CF is @ CGN! :dancingbanana:

I guess an impressive costume is the most essential component for former airsofters.

Airsoft was fun! We used to shoot each other in the "house" back in school years ago but definitely don't have all the gucci kits like these kids have nowadays. The good old days you can go play paintball and airsoft without "dressing up" with knock-off body armour to look cool to your peers. It is all fun, lots running around, lots of BBQ, steak dinner and beer afterwards!.

We stopped going after everyone started taking pictures of themselves instead of actually doing physical activities. Half of the people ended up oneway or the other in the military anyways. There were more than a few soldiers playing airsoft even like 10 years ago - it was fun, you don't have do all the "hardwork", just shoot people!! :dancingbanana:

And airsofters are great - they bought all the gucci kits and sell them without even using it!!! I go shopping at airsoft d-oard once awhile. BTW, that is how some of the most popular gear outlets started their business...war did not really kick in after a few years ago.

Who knows, 15 years down the road we might have a bunch of RSM that were airsoftters when they were kids! :p

On the other hand, this is a FIREARMS forum, so save the airsoft topics else where.

The buttstock of the SCAR still looks like the tail of a fish to me. I'm also not sold yet on the usefulness of a folding stock, I have one on my Krinker and have never used it, it's easier to aim with the stock in your shoulder.

Been there and done that. My new home is now CGN lol

I do not like that front sight setup, with it flipping forward make for a good "get caught" on everything in the bush.

More importantly it is easier to flipup when you really need your BUIS. If it were folded the other way it is much harder to deploy, especially with gloves on.

Oh come on GT...I was at Dave's Surplus and saw the old pictures of you and a few other CGNers at some Air-soft concentration some years back...full mack daddy woodland camo,...very ###y!;)

I know!! those were the good old days when we were younger and still got time to run around, and looked stupid without knowing it! I need to ask Dave's for one of those pictures! They are antiques. :p

People got old now, they won't do this stupid thing anymore unless the government paid for it , or they get suckered into my expensive gun hobby. :kickInTheNuts:

It boils down to politics and money. The military gets X dollars from the federal coffers. Military spends say... 98% of the budget, coming 2% underbudget. Good thing, right? Now the military has a 2% surplus in the bank for the WTFBBQ moments, right?

Nope. Congress goes, "Well hey, since you don't need this money, we can give it to the FBI or CIA, etc etc."

Come next budgetary meeting, congress goes, "Well since you only needed 98% of your budget last time, can't you make do with only 98% of your budget this time?"

... yeah, it's stupid but that's how it basically boils down to...

I can't see them justifying the replacement of the M-4/16 series without changing the cartridge.

And when the major weakness of the M-4/16 series is acknowledged to be the magazines, why would they adopt a rifle using the same mags???

LCF and spending money to spend money can't really be that big a priority can it?

I bet you wouldnt see any of these retarded comments if it were the Canadian Forces instead of the US Army.

I agree, as well as some of the bonehead comments regarding helmets and mounts, camo pattern etc... What that has to do with the topic is beyond me. Some of the experts here make me shake my head. Some guys don't have a ####ing clue.

Well said. Well said...

The scar look awesome. It is about time the US fixed the abortion that is the AR. :D

(It was never the best choice, as the AK and 7.62x39 was and maybe still is superior.)

But at least with 30 years and billions of dollars and thousands of lives, finally the US has caught up to Russian AKs. It's about fricken time. The FAL was badass the Ar was a mistake. (Fine for sporting, not for war.)

/Armchair off.
