RANT......Hey Westerners what the hell is a ky-ute?????

So, because they may pronounce a word differently than you, based on a regional dialect, they are dumbass, redneck, yanks (more likely to be Rebs)???

Your not helping your case with your obtuse biggotry.

Apologies for my biggitry but they seem to be able to describe corn as corn but acorn becomes Akerns? I get it it's a regional dialect as you put it.

I don't really want to start a pissing match with you....and never said anyone was wrong about calling a coyote a ky-ute. What I feel is more poor form is the way a person, any person that is in a position to portray outdoor sportsmen and women to the nonhunting population as poor speaking rednecks. That stereotype however endearing you find it has been played out in my opinion, there is nothing more annoying than watching a person for 30mins perpetuate that stereotype and have it be ok because he's from Saskatchewan and " that's the way we say coyote... ky-ute" And as I said before I'm not just picking on Jason Peterson or westerners I feel the same when a dumbass redneck yank calls an Acorn a "Akern"

And one more thing as a hunter and an intelligent person,...as I know your are from reading your posts on this site......" you should care, not necessarily about what I think"
You should care about how others will think when you can't pronounce coyote correctly!

Then they can go along with the whole " he doesn't even know he's doing it" analogy you suggested about me!

The analogy has a basis in fact, and personal observation. I've worked with many people from all over Canada that moved west for work and some very strong patterns emerge. On average it takes 2 or 3 years for someone from Ontario to be reschooled. Right up to that point they cannot comprehend that their view of the world isn't universal and that someone might not even care what they think, or how it is done in Ontario.

Do you really think that calling people poor speaking rednecks isn't insulting, or that when you say "endearing" it isn't patronizing? Do you think that you should be allowed to stand and judge others and decide their behavior including how they talk? Of course you do, because you don't even know you're doing it. I've seen chairs thrown around for less.

But not a 5x5 as you stated earlier........ :).......

Just tugging your chain....... it really doesn't matter, and the regs are so odd and hard to understand in each province (and arbitrary to boot), that it's really hard to understand for the average guy when out of province......

I think your sig line applies......

correct, it was an off the top of my head example...I should have googled a pic and learned to count :)

The flip side of that same coin, is painting all people from Ontrio with that same wide brush, based solely on your limited experience and observations.

As I said earlier, every province shares equally in the bounty of azzholes and dickheads... and good folk too.

I had a longer response, but it disappeared when I tried to send it.

My limited experience allows me to accept that people are entitled to their own opinion; and that they are in no way required to change their behavior to fit into my belief system.

Lake trout are a member of the char family as are brook trout and brown trout. But we call them trout. When I first moved out west from Quebec (with a three year layover in Ontario) BC'ers said I spoke with a french accent. Well I certainly never noticed. Well like I always said, I can speak english with a french accent and french with an english accent. My Dad always made a point of watching Wile Coyote cartoons with us on Saturday mornings, he liked it when the rock pounded Wile into the ground after he fell off a cliff. Laughed every time. Newfoundlanders have a unique take on the English language, definitely my favourite.

No, I don't believe that's true at all. Toronto is a city made up almost entirely of azzholes and dickheads, with a population of 5 million, they have 5 times the population of Saskatchewan, a province made up mostly of good hard working and honest individuals, and therefore Ontario obviously has a far greater proportion.

When I speak of "limited experience," I am referring to the data gathered while peering through a single pair of eyes... and the paradign I was referring to was akin to expounding on ones own humility.

This is the most ridiculous and bigoted statement I have read in a long time...... to make the assertions that Toronto is almost entirely made of a-holes is just ridiculous...... I am no fan of Toronto either but I spend time there for work...... have met plenty of good people there...... how much time have you spent there, and how many of those 5 million people do you know to make such a ridiculous judgment?

You are either young or jaded... people are people... regardless of colour or creed... we all come into the world bare-azzed, kicking and screaming... and then life is applied, and we respond... of course there is wiggle room for personality and aberrations (illness). It is one thing to discuss political paradigms (in which case this is the wrong forum), but to point those realities or perceptions at an individual or group is hardly appropriate... if that is the case, we all, east or west, share responsibility for the current state of affairs.

And the rest of Canada continues to revolve around you, eh?

This east, west thing is getting old.

I've never heard anyone from ontario or toronto for that matter knock or put down anyone from other provinces.

We love travelling to the other provinces and meeting locals.

I have on the other hand had people from other provinces cast aspersions on me from being from ontario, only to find out that i dislike ottawa as much as they do.

We drank and laughed the rest of the night away.

just because Trudeau senior was an a$$ to the west, doesn't mean we, your brethren from the east thought he was a good guy.

The East /West divide will never go away, ass long as the East keeps condemning our oil and the proposed pipelines, while accepting transfer payments paid for by our Western oil. Yes the West resented PET. but we resent his son even more, and he is in power because of the Eastern voters.

This isn't the politics form...... but I will say this, i didn't vote liberal, my riding didn't go liberal and a lot of tidings in Ontario didn't go liberal....

An economy built on one commodity is bound to fail...... your oil isn't worthless right now due to lack of a pipeline..... its worthless because the Saudis are flooding the market.......

Didn't you guys vote in the NDP?... the champions of "sustainable energy"

And btw, the liberals took BC and Manitoba in the last election......

again.....its not the east that is your problem.

its Ottawa.

You have an open invitation to stay at my place, we'll take a pub drinking tour of Ontario , you can meet your ontario brethren, after that, lets see if you still feel the same way. its us against Ottawa, always has been.

Trudeau is in power because of a broken voting system.

only 38-40% of canada voted for him.

majority of those that voted for him were manipulated through social engineering, they are low information voters. Mostly young people.

Those of us that own businesses or have been to the rodeo before, didn't vote for hair product.

All I've got to do is look at an electoral map to make that judgement, but as had been stated a few times already, this is not the politics section so I will leave it at that.

Agree with what you point out and you're talking Federal, but fun to explain in BC, provincially the Liberals are the conservatives. ;) Not the same Liberal party. More fun Westernisms.

And yea... We're all so similar the bickering is amusing.
