Rare Rugers

The only one I have that may qualify is a #1 in 45-70, and not because they are rare but the story behind this particular one.

I see the hook... are you waiting for a bite?

You tell me your Ruger rifle story and I will tell you mine.

I had a no1 from the 303 brit run pass thru my hands wearing circassian walnut. Lee clayton figured it to be the lone one wearing that walnut. Was a very pretty rifle.

If anyone has a Ruger Express they are willing to let go of I am interested. Would prefer anything other than an '06, but could be interested in that even!

I have one of the 1976 77 rifles in 250 Savage. Shoots like a dream and have used it to take a few hundred assorted animals up to deer. 100 g bullets did not matter what brand

Original Stag Grips are certainly rare.

Early Flatops and Flatgates probably rate as rare in Canada, uncommon in the US.

A picture of the Flattop with the Stag grips would be a delight.

I once owned a 5 didjit serial number FT in 357

Years ago I was at a Vegas gun show, a vendor there had a table full of 4 and 5 digit FT for sale. These were his duplicates........ Shows how small the amounts were that made it north.

357

Not Ruger, but again, rare is a set of S&W factory magna ivory grips I have for the N-frame Smiths.

I know it ain’t rare but my first full stocked rifle and it’s been a good luck charm in the bush!

I want my M-77 MK II stainless in .270 WSM back. Anyone have one they wish to part with? A shameless plug for sure...

Too bad mine is a lowly ought six. Served me very well, just doesn’t see the light of day much anymore....

I have an African in 9.3x62, never seen another one, considered selling it a few times, but stopped myself in the nick of time.

;) That's an item that interests me. To fill that calibre void in my gun safe I picked up an 'inexpensive' full wood stocked Zastava. DEFINITELY no complaints on how it shoots but it does lack a decent degree of 'polish'. I guess the Ruger, in that calibre, didn't or doesn't come in a full wood stock model?? Hoytcanon/Greg, do you know???

No, it came with the standard African stock. It looks like this one pictured... if you like it, I can PM the handle of the new owner (he lives on your end of the country)... maybe he will let it go? Ruger will not build anything over .35 cal with the International barrel profile (per Lipsey's).

I suspect this years run of 6.5X55 Africans will prove to be a good investment down the line.
Grab a couple while you still can!:dancingbanana:
