I've been looking for sale pricing on a Dan Wesson. 357 Hunter Pac.... Nothing! This is the Dan Wesson that came with the frame, barrel and shroud with an extra shroud with a pre-mounted Burris scope, and barrel wrench all in a samsonite hard case. I can't find one anywhere let alone a current selling price. Has anybody come across One or know a ballpark value?

The Hunter Pack is rather rare. The pistol pack is more common and sells for around $1500 in the US in today's market. With it's extra bracket shroud and scope it would probably be selling for $300-$400 more.

I would really like to find an example of market pricing. I can find the odd mention of them in archived photos but they just aren't out there.... At least not for sale. And yes I've checked the Dan Wesson forum from time to time.

a Alberta company sold one a few years ago for over 12k new in box to a European buyer,

Canada customs stopped it at the international airport under the 4 inch barrel rule and it took a few months to sport it

Yea welcome to corrupt Canada. Oh and the business had the proper sport papers. some govt jerk just wanted to play games

current value is maybe higher than what has been said if in minty condition. Jeff

Wow!......12k?!?! That's substantially higher than what I was guessing. I wish there was a recent sighting SOMEWHERE of one for sale or just sold. Surely I can't have the ONLY one in Canada?!

If you frequent the Dan Wesson forum as you say, they will answer this for you right away. That site is amazing for Dan Wesson info. That being said, the Canadian market is a different animal as many of those packs also had the 4" barrel (could be ordered many different ways) and therefore prohib. In general, prices for Dans are much cheaper here in Canada though their prices are creeping up there. I have never seen a Hunter Pack for sale in Canada, so value would be difficult.

As Zedbra said, ain't US market up here. Everything sells for less with a few exceptions. Pistol packs are listed at $1800 buy it now prices with no takers on GB, good indicator of what it could bring down there. Up here, at least 20%-25% less if you ask me, plus tha fact that one or two barrels and shrouds must go if the buyer is not 12(6) licensed...

You can keep the shrouds - just not the barrels. I have a 4" shroud and had a custom 106mm barrel made for my Dan. I traded the 2" shroud to a fellow in the States for the scope rings out of a Hunter Pack.

I was waiting to buy it if the guy did not he offered it to me for 1300 in the parking lot, I passed, should have bought it shooting silhouette at the time. Jeff

I've only seen a couple of the Hunter Pacs in 40 years or so. Klondike Arms in Edmonton had one back in the day (if memory serves), no idea who bought it. Was around $1000 back then, a lot of money in the early 80's. - dan

It still boggles my mind how such an innovative and relatively successful design didn't become a major seller. I know there will always be a following to some degree but in comparison to the Python which is admittedly beautiful aesthetically, the Dan Wesson seems to have more going for it. The frame size is quite compact, the accuracy is undeniable and the ability to swap barrels should knock it right out of the park as a winning combo. Maybe if I petition the producers at The Walking Dead to introduce a Dan Wesson as Rick's new gun? That should boost its popularity!!!

I still have both the 4" and 2" barrels and shrouds for that gun, CBSA would not allow the prohib (here) barrel to be exported to a country that allows its citizens to have them.

12K ??......Handofzeus I belong to the Dan Wesson forum . This is the best place to start for answers. I agree that a "Hunter pack" sounds rare but I have seen several different multi barrel packs in mint condition and do not think they are worth more then $3000ish........my 2cents.

This was not your average "pistol pack" it was fully engraved and inlaid in a Haliburton case.
Truly a Gucci piece.
