Rcbs chargemaster combo.

Lyman has a similar model. It sells for $347.27 CDN at Lebarons. I don't know how well it works. I got the Lyman first gen model 15 years ago and it is still working. Real time saver.

I bought mine at bass pro last month $469 before tax.

Got mine at bass pro last weekend for the same, plus the $75 USA rebate, brings to about $370 CAD. I've wanted one for a while a figure I better get it now before basspro adjusts for the dollar... Lebaron is now selling for $700+, which in my mind is ludicrous.

I have a RCBS electronic scale I don't trust already you have to keep zeroing it sometimes I miss it and end up with few loads .4 grains over. Since I don't know how many loads are over dump them all start over.
I prefer a Dandy power trickler and a beam scale I adjust my measure to 1/2 grain below weight, dump onto the pan then push a button until the correct weight is obtained. $400 cheaper no warm up or calibration nonsense required

I still need to get one or two of these. It's on my when the dollar is not in the toilet to do list.

I have the Hornady and have used it for several thousand rounds, from hornet up to 7x57. Works very well for me. FS

I like my Hornady too. Hard to argue with $275 to my door from Jo Brook Outdoors about a year ago. I will buy an RCBS one day though...or maybe a Pact as they are lifetime guaranteed. I used to have the RCBS branded Pact setup but the scale crapped out and the RCBS stuff didn't have the lifetime warranty.

I have the Chargemaster, and it is like having another hand. Very fine addition to the bench.

I also have the Lyman unit [1200 dps] but it is such a pain to clean out and change powders in, that I never use it.

Regards, Dave.

This item has always interested me as a nice to have, not need to have item. I do just fine with my old 10/10 and the Lee charger, but when I sit down for a big session (200+ rounds) it starts getting tedious. But I do like the full hand on approach.

Anyway, I'm on natchez mailing list and they are selling this combo, which is the chargemaster and 1500 scale for $280 bigheads. Shipping up to me will bring the grand total to $366. Again, this is USD so I have to be careful with the exchange: this will look like $500 all said and done. Still seems like a decent number for this setup, but I have not researched it fully. Would I get the same rig somewhere else for a better price?

I've been doing a lot of mad minutes and this week I want to sit down and load up 500 .303B's. Something like this would make sessions like that more sensible methinks, so I'm considering it seriously.

i'm thinking about this scale from there too, even if its another $86 to ship ($280-$366 you mentioned) with the crappy exchange its worth it

By way of final update, I received the combo today, and the total landed cost in Canadian pesos was $503.61.

Can't say I am overly impressed with Natchez's diligence on the shipping, but they were very friendly and answered my email within a day. I ordered it on 2/22 and they didn't ship until 3/15, so a little to be desired there, but nothing to give a bad review over.

Now time to go figure it out! I've heard of some secret requiring a McDonald's straw, I'm sure that info is around here somewhere.

I had one and sold it after a few uses.
I can throw and trickle faster to .02 gn than the chargemaster can do it to .1 so I did not get the point.

it arrived 3/15 or left Natchez 3/15?

Trick #1, cut 1" McD straw, stick it into metal dispense tube leaving 1/8" sticking out. This prevents powder from sticking.
Trick #2, change the program to drop faster. On the web somewhere, supposedly provided by RCBS support, makes the drop lot faster (vaguely recall 30% faster).

Find it a lot faster. Dump powder into funnel, put tray back which then auto dispense, put bullet on top, put cartridge into die (Forster ultra or Wilson), set bullet, measure ogive OAL to confirm. BEEP, next charge is ready. Grab next case, rinse and repeat. Quick & slick.

still only +- .1 grains.

The straw and reprogram help a lot, but to me, a 500$ machine that will only get to +- .1 is not worth it.

I use 2 of them and they do work flawlessly. Two speeds it up so that one is charging cases almost as fast as a thrower..............I love mine and I check them every couple of weeks for accuracy and have never found them to be out.
