The over 500 FPS is a real joke. You can buy a flintlock rifle without any PAL
Modern Flintlock LONG guns do NOT require a PAL. Modern percussion muzzleloading long guns DO.

Somehow the status of some objects changes when used to commit a crime. A sub 500fps airgun is unregulated until used in a robbery, then it magically becomes a firearm.
Such has always been the case; same goes for a toy gun; use one to commit robbery; it's armed robbery despite the fact that it shoots suction cups.
Not really. Was a case where 2 teens went on a drive by with a BB gun, ended up shooting someone in the eye. I didn't see ANY weapon charges. Just aggravated assault, and released to their parents.
