RCMP memory ....

I don't give a rats' ass if the Sig was never a general issue handgun for the rcmp. I'm telling you that is what the members showed up with that day.

The real point of the story was the attitude of the rcmp about a mere civilian having the temerity to train rcmp members.

You don't like being challenged on the facts - who cares? Go ahead and pump your chest because you must be awesome.

I ask again - what facts are you referring to?

I didn't say that I walked on water then or now. Then as now, the average "Black Badge" trained IPSC shooter is a far better shot and gun handler than the average serving rcmp member. Or are you going to challenge that? I could easily come up with a examples of what I'm talking about as could others on this forum, but then we'd be accused of cop bashing.

Best not go there ....

Two rcmp members who ASK for civilian training show up with two Sig/Sauer P226 pistols from the Detachment inventory. Forgive my presumption that they were general issue to all members and not just the ERT flirting with them.

I wasn't privy then or now as to what the rcmp was issuing what to whom. The mere fact that they carry what they do speaks volumes about rcmp efficacy in firearms selection.

And what facts would those be? The members showed up with two Sig Sauer P226 pistols.

Whether or not they were standard issue or not is irrelevant.
So if the facts don’t matter why don’t we just call it fiction? Pretty hard to call it a factual account.

Sharps'74, when the two officers showed up where they representing themselves as RCMP Officers or as off-duty RCMP looking for info on ipsc ?
There is a difference, as for the BB trained IPSC shooter is a far better shot and gun handler than the average serving RCMP member ...
I have to disagree, the Officer would have decided to draw and fire for centre mass long before the ipsc shooter decided it was time to run and gun.
There is a whole lot more to being a General Duty RCMP Officer and even more to being on the ERT.
Rob

I am not sure where you are seeing this, but I don't see this problem in IPSC today. the myth of the DA being tough to master is just that, a myth
A lot of shooters with the CZ Shadow have the same problem today.

The members in question showed up in working dress uniform as on patrol. For all I knew or cared, they were on duty time.

They were basically familiar with IPSC standards and just wanted to know the fundamentals of the semi-auto. At the time, 1/4 of a shooter's match score was comprised of "Draw & Fire" exercises to 25 m in 2.5 seconds, later reduced to 2.0 seconds. That's how it became obvious that the first shot DA at 15 m was going to be a miss.

It's obvious that I hurt the itty-bitties of a couple LEOs here for which I make no apologies.

As for the others, when you can't intelligently refute a poster's comments, the CGN default of personal attack is your best shot. Pathetic .....

I see it every time I go to a match where there are targets at 20m+ or a Pepper Popper as a first target. At a match last year, the CoF started and ended with targets at 20M. The first target was an embarrassment for many.

I shoot a lot of DA revolver so I have no trouble with DA on the first shot with the CZ Shadow. My wife definitely does. She is not alone.

I'm no longer surprised when folks show up here acting like they woke up, put on their Arsehole Pants, drank a mug of cold pee, and then sat down on the computer to be angry pr!cks about some small thing.

Can't we all just get along? Maybe treat each other with a modicum of respect and patience? Why the hell is everything a fight?

Jesus, behave already.
