I have a Para 16-40 pistol that was not feeding. Sent it in August 2012 to the Canadian distributor for repair (NS) They said it would take a while as they were sending it to the US for repair.

in April 2013 I contact them only to find out the pistol had never been sent. It sat on a shelf at NS for the entire time. No apology, just said the guy who took it in didn't work there anymore. They indicated they would be sending to another company (name of company suggestive of crushed rock) in Quebec and requested a rush. After a year Aug 2013, I heard nothing. Called NS who knew nothing and would call me back. After several weeks I was called by new Quebec company who tell me the are the distributors for Para. They tell me they will replace the pistol.... they want my PAL and gun club info and the registration info for the original pistol (?)

After a month, I hear nothing... they tell me they have no 40's in stock. After several months, no word, and they tell me delivery January 2014. January is hear and now they tell me they cannot get the replacement and offer me a different 40 or a 9mm but they don't have any of those either.

Para SUCKS! So do their Canadian Distributors.

Unbelievable! Para never did get my hard earned money and it never will! Heard lots of shooters had love for the 16-40 Limited in the late 90's but personally didn't and I don't feel bad about it...

Can't say this is Para's fault, sounds like another NS horror story to me. That said, I wouldn't buy a Para because of their reputation of unreliability.

On a side note, you have the patience of a saint.

Agree with you about NS. I was gobsmacked

As to patience, I know things can take time and I took them at their word that it would be a while, but I expected them to actually DO something. "Crushed rock" company is not proving much better. Next stop, RCMP to report as stolen.

You better not do that as your gun was note stolen as you sent it to them, you will have a lot more to worry about if you report it stolen then just womdering when they are going to repair or replace your gun.

What or who is "crushed rock company"?

I guess in hindsight you should have just sent it to Dlask or some other reputable pistol smith and paid to get it fixed.

Wow , thats a very long wait......I am not sure what the solution is in the long run , but I would get the gun back before it disappears completely and get it repaired yourself locally . It may be possiable to track down some upper management in Paras management or customer service department and let your case be known.......if they even have a customer service department......

2 years later and i still have nightmares about N.S customer service and Para just not giving 2 phucks about phucking me over.

There are a handful of dealers I will buy from in Canada....primarily because they have proven to be there for the customer and not redirect them to useless ####ing importers like NS when there is a problem. I will also avoid any product where there is an exclusive importer like NS ie. the NSR97 because you are ####ed completely if something goes south with it.

While I have nothing good whatsoever to say about NS based on this experience, they are no longer the distributors of Para. Good bad or otherwise, i will never purchase anything that puts me a position to rely upon these companies for customer support. I'm not a huge pistol guy anymore, but a cheap Norinco with Marstar backing it up is sounding pretty good about now. They have always been really good to me.

9 months waiting for warranty on a gun from NS.

They then told me, after 9 months of back and forth BS, that Gravelle was now the importer and I had to deal with them.

Gravelle issued me a replacement new gun, finally, but I never forget the absolute nightmare of dealing with NS.

Honestly felt like they were doing everything in their power, not to help me!
