Really? The end of cheap SKS's?

The one I just picked up has a small rod welded inside the mag to prevent more then 5 rnds to be loaded. No visible marks on the outside.

Welded to follower arm? Or, pinned/riveted to the follower pivot point? The former are found on early IZH 2008 imports and are the "preferred" method, the later are o.k. but are sometimes prone to feeding issues. Both show no visible evidence of pinning.

Recently, 2 weeks ago bought (2) SKS rifles, which one could consider (mint) as I have not seen any picks of better re-furbs, one has the Weimajack method, and the other the welded pin on the follower method . These two rifles could have been twins, bought from Wholesale Sports.

There were only 4 big importers of SKS's recently into Canada - Trade-Ex, Bell, North Silva and Westrifle. Some of these bulk importers then wholesale re-sold them on to others who then also sold them to the retail public market. You can if you want to, narrow down who brought in what by their mag blocking method.

Yep, round bar stock pinned/riveted to the follower pivot point. Make sure the follower pivots freely. If it's stiff, it may cause feeding problems.
Typical of previous shipment of SKS rifles from westrifle, and sold to a variety of retailers.

Where can I find more? If people know where to find cheap Sks overseas please email me master@westrifle.com
If you can give me phone number or email of a person that sells them I would appreciate it. Also I can pay you a commission !

Geez, I thought dealing in arms, and the arms dealers were secrets well protected. Why would the average SKS consumer
come across this info. Shows you how little I know of dealing in Arms !

...Uh... he was being a little bit sarcastic maybe?...

So,it appears there are still lots of Russian rifles around, what about unissued Chinese ones?
T

All seem to be going fast around here. After a failed bid to grab a few Chinese from Wolverine (sold out), I grabbed two Russians from the local CT. They had about 80 in stock. Two days later (yesterday) I directed a buddy down there to grab one for himself and they are down to 25. I doubt there will be any more available locally within about a week or so.

If everybody is so desperate to rush out and grab one of the soon to be "rare SKS" call Jean at P&S militaria, he (like plenty of others) still has plenty of Chinese and Russian ones at prices starting under $200! But be quick, once there gone who knows when or if we will ever see them again under $700!
