^^^ They are cool to collect all years and factories for sure, especially at the current prices. I believe you are correct IMO it will be a while before they run out of the regular sks and longer again before they go up a great deal!
SOOO folks,, what if anything is the next SKS??? Is there another SKS-ish rifle in warehouses somewhere, that we may be able to get our hands on!??

Bangladesh have an SKS that looks very similar to the Chinese SKS. They have their own arms production and were supported by the chinese in its development, producing their own licenced copy of the Type 81 as the BD88. While china provided SKS carbines to Bangladesh, there is thought that Bangledesh made their own copy as well.

I'd buy one for the collection.
 
I was thinking maybe some country may have a warehouse full of military/match/sniper grade rifles! However something like that really would not go out of favor! An old great shooting rifle just needs new glass to keep it great!
 
Whats the difference between a Westrifle SKS,and a CT SKS other than around $100?

Not looking for any flames,just really curious about the price differences between the two companies.
Are Westrifle's SKS's a lot better or am I missing something other than free shipping?

I have bought 2 Russian SKS's from CT,both really nice Tula models.

Depending on where CT gets their stock, possibly nothing. Minor details as far as how the magazine was pinned could be all the difference is. Westrifle's quality is known to be superb.

The reason you see a price difference is because Westrifle is the importer of the SKS... they sold all their old stock, and the new shipment of SKS just landed - and the new price reflects the inflation from various factors discussed in this thread.
The reason why CT price is $100 less is because that is their OLD stock. They have not yet sold out, and had to resort to getting any of the new stuff from the importers yet. Once those run dry, and CT has to pay for the increase in price from the suppliers, you will see their prices increase as well.

Most are smart enough to realize nothing good lasts forever.

That and marstar has said it before, Albanians along with the Yugos. Besides, the US have most and those Albanians sell for more than 600 bucks. Kind of flies in the face of the "sks are cheap and plentiful" mantra that some profess.

One other thing to think about, many countries still have the tooling for these rifles so if the demand is there and prices jump, ( not that much, because look at the norc prices for all the modern clones) one or more countries will jump in and start up production!!

Well seeing as China wants double the price now, it isn't like we can get them cheaper from China.
 
I recently watched a couple YouTube videos from the States and they claimed that the SKS is a great budget rifle even at $450-500. What that suggests to me is that people with much more choice than we have, still think that $450 is a great deal for an SKS.

Except the haven't gotten any more for years so what they have is it! That drives prices up!
