Well, it appears the sun and the moon correlated long enough for the latest batch of Tavor's to make it thru, but not many of the IWI accessories made it.

I really want to add an Aimpoint Magnifier to mine, but am blank faced staring at a very weird plastic gidget where I need the mount to go... does anyone have an idea as to how to make up a plate that will lock into this contraption?

The idea is of course to wind up a rear mount for something like this:

I have had my tavor for over a year. I bought a replacement rail from Dlask and mounted an eotech 3x magnifier and sight on it. There seems to be a few different rails out there.

I have no experience with the IWI magnifier but typically the Israeli small arms optics are kinda junk. I'd go with the Aimpoint mag if anything.

Will you also be manufacturing a partial rail that fits behind the BUIS, or just the full length rail?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Thats what I was getting at...It would have to be tight enough to be secure, but loose enough that it wont mess up the plastic. Although its only holding the magnifier, so who really cares if it moves around a bit:confused:after all its the blue dot that counts I guess.

Does that piece witht he BUIS come off? If it does you could screw and epoxy a piece of picatinny rail right on top of it, just level it to the front rail.

Micro Tavor with new CAA Tactical rail

Also I believe Dlask already came out with a rail system for this rifle. As for a magnifier nothing beats a FTS with a holo-sight!

Nope. From what Im reading here the people that were given the option of a factory rail and removable sight ($300 option) dont have a rear backup sight...the gen 1's and normal models have it cast in place. Its really not a big deal, I have the $69 dlask rail that looks to be of better quality than the original, and a cool riser from Questar that clears the camel hump, but thought it may be nice to keep it original...at least for a while, by adding a twist in place rail with a flip away 3x or 4x magnifier as noted in this pic I stole off the web.

ViktorF not to give me a shamless plug but I got that same model FTS & glass on the EE right now.
& yes eigenvector the micro does take UZI mag's.

My tavor doesn't have that weird ass hump thing. It has a crude flip up buis that folds into the middle of the factory rail.

If I mount my eotech far enough forward, I might have enough room to mount a magnifier.

I might also go with an elcan spectre dr instead.

If any of you go with a magnifier, be sure to post pics!

Here is my setup.

With an eotech 552 and a 3X Gen II magnifier on a dlask rail

Closeup, need a slight riser for the eotech to be perfect, about 5mm

Can still use the BUIS, the 3X Gen II Magnifier comes with a 7mm riser.

Without magnifier

With the magnifier (Sorry my camera did not want to cooperate with me)

Glad to be of help TM. I'm mulling the idea of adding this small expensive Larue Tactical Mount LT-110 to get an optimal co witness view since the 3x magnifier is slightly higher than the Eotech.
